Really? The Q8’s bezel is 59mm, or about 2.3”.

What diffuser do you have? I’ve been looking for a nice one for the Q8.

Oh never mind, I again mis-read.

I’m right now traveling and only has my tablet with me which I rarely use normally, still getting used to the small text even with reading glasses.

I don’t remember the model number of the diffuser I got for the Q8 and I can look it up when I get home. What I do remember is that it was a Fenix one if that helps.

Hmmmm… That’s interesting. My tracking has updated every day since USPS got it from “The Slo Boat from China”. .

Are you using ( https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input ) to track it??

Yeah, you lucked out Newlumen that yours was shipped by FedEx SmartPost. Yours was shipped two weeks after many of ours & your getting it the same day as many of us. :+1:

Of course ours were shipped two weeks earlier by ’Slo Boat from China International Marine Express’. :person_facepalming:

Here are a few photos comparing the GT Mini to the Emisar D1S. Click to embiggen.

Bezels are the same diameter. The GT mini is 132mm long. The D1S is 128mm long.

I prefer the D1S’s non-crenulated bezel, and its larger and firmer switch.

The D1S’s reflector appears very slightly smoother that the GT Mini’s, but it’s probably not noticeable during use.

If I had to pick one, I’d still pick both. :partying_face:

I hope to post some beamshot comparisons when the weather permits.

After seeing that pic, I just compared my D1S and GT mini reflector and the D1S reflector is definitely smoother. Also the D1S hotspot is noticeably smaller, so should throw farther. I got 1,330 lumens with the D1S and 1,140 lumens with the GT Mini. Seems Emisar’s quality is better than Lumintop overall.

Just received my mini GT. At first I kept measuring about 500 lumens with every battery I had and freaked out. Then I wiped down the springs with alcohol and got 1,140 turn on lumens using the TA lumen sphere. In comparison, my D1S measures 862 turn on lumens. I don’t know why it measured so low even after I wiped the springs with alcohol. The hotspot on the D1S is smaller than the Mini GT though. The Mini GT NW tint is actually as warm and rosier than the 5D D1S so it is definitely a 5D tint. Looks great.

I just took a piece of paper soaked in alcohol and wiped down the springs on my D1S. There were alot of yellowish corrosive residue on the beryllium springs and battery contacts. The turn on lumen finally came back up from 862 lumens to 1,330 lumens! Now my D1S is brighter than the GT Mini and the hotspot is also noticeably smaller so should throw further than the GT Mini.

Is it bad to leave the battery in contact with beryllium springs? Does that somehow accelerate corrosion?

Thats what i thought… emisar d1s is intense and small… perfect led centered… i dont see anything wrong… hopefully i get my mini gt today… tracking didnt show it is out for delivery but it is schedule to delivered today. .

So, perhaps I should solder the spring to the battery top and remove any spring from the driver, just to be sure there is no corrosion build up between the cell and the spring…. (I’ve done that before, by the way)
