This is recent 2.0 revision of tool AA. Manufacturer claims 18% increase in lumen output (~100lm more) and 15% increase in range over previous revision.
It’s now 650lm on 14500 li-ion cell and 270lm on Ni-Mh AA and has 4 modes and hidden turbo(need to cycle power 5-6 times to activate). It’s also slightly shorter (by 2mm/0.08”) and lighter.
Typically it’s available in 2 forms. One is only with the clicky tail switch plus accessories. Second is with both tail switches plus a AA battery (AA battery might only be through Amazon). So make sure you order the right version.
It looks like the above link does not include the magnetic tail cap.
Why not? Yeah I would’ve liked to have paid less too, but we all knew what the GB price was going in and felt it was reasonable compared to the competition, plus we got it early. So what if they have a huge sale, overproduced or negotiated an even better deal with the suppliers now to bring the price down even further?
Are you sure? I was under the impression that it used same mirror like other rebranded Astrolux flashlights. Diameter is the same, so why would they change curvature profile?
It’s really nothing new… Presale price is never guaranteed to be lowest ever… be serious… This happened many times before for other flashlights. You always pay premium to be early adopter no matter if you buy flashlights, smartphones or other tech, especially if it’s something that quickly becomes obsolete… You pay to be the first to get one and be able to brag about it
Are you really surprised that products go on sale some time after initial market introduction?
Yes. The centering ring and the whole reflector diameter is bigger than GT. Maybe Astrolux and banggood written the BLF GT in the text some places to get more google search results as the GT is a very known light. And that made a little confusion.
I know that. What I was saying is that those reflectors are made to the same specs. I have no way to verify if they are made in same factory or not. I believe some parts can be sourced using common supply chain. And yes - I know this reflector was designed and produced specifically for BLF GT and is not some standard off the shelf product. It would still be more reasonable to just order(if possible) from company already equipped with appropriate tool chain than to build your own production line.
