Okay, now I understand.
+1 for amazon US please.
I can’t seem to find the thread, but I remember someone else pointed out that another company used a white plastic ring around the contact point to allow button tops and flat tops.
Are you referring to this contraption?

Djozz could you please put my two requested as Amazon please, shipping would be very fast.
Thank You
Astrolux uses a really nice white plastic ring that is just tall enough to prevent the negative end of a cell from touching, but still allow the flat positive end to touch. I just mentioned this on a ROT66 thread. Getting these tolerances are hard, though. Sofirn may just suggest button tops in the carrier like the current Q8. If you don’t have button tops, solder blob them.
This setup is super common in the Vape industry, and works extremely well. Nobody uses button tops. Barry just needs to get with some Vape companies in Shenzhen.
Excuse the dirt in this 3yr old mod. Ready to replace it, but it won’t die. This one is made by Wismec

I think he’s refering to this:

Reuleaux?
@FlashPilot, well, I was the one who spoke about the new Sofirn Q8 first since I had talked about it a few months ago:
So, we all love the BLF Q8 right? WE love modifying it, making it brighter, more customized, better, and cetera. First off, we have Sofirn which now sells the BLF Q8 MCPCB, the reflector, and the switch for anybody who wants to modify their light and easily swap parts, or make something completely, like a lantern https://www.aliexpress.com/item/BLF-Q8-Accessories-lighted-switch-assembly-Copper-DTP-MCPCB-Reflector-for-Q8/32879434650.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.52b34c4dp3XU0f Second,…
I actually found out by accident that they would be making an updated version of the light by asking for a battery tube to be made available:
And no problem! I understand your concern for wanting a response from djozz. He is more knowledgeable than I am.
Reuleaux?
Yes, with DNA 200 chipset
BlueSwordM:The MCPCB is of course DTP. It would not make sense to not use a DTP MCPCB since the BLF Q8 features it already, and most lights already do. Therefore, the Sofirn Q8 will feature one of course.
AR lens? Depends on where they source it. Some AR lens are just bad in terms of tint, like in the prototype AR lens for the Q8, and the Kaidomain AR lens.
If they can get a similar one to the Kaidomain AR lens, that would be great.
NOT TRUE! Im not at all interested in your guesses and false assumptions. If you dont have definitive facts about the actual build specs for this light, then dont guess at the answers for someone extremely knowledgeable on the subject who will get them directly from the manufacturer.
The questions are for djozz and for the record, so I will kindly await his replies.
Geez. You can wait for a different person to answer without attacking those who are only trying to help. :person_facepalming:

Hello, i’m interested for one by aliexpress.
Thanks!

Please put me down for two (2).

On further reflection, as much as the Q8 is a BLF classic. 4x18650 cells really are more battery than I want/need which is what has kept me from getting one up to now, it would just sit un-used.
Totally understandable. I don’t use my soda can lights much. They come in really handy sometimes as extra lighting for photography and video, and they’re nice as lanterns or candles due to the wide stable base and long runtime, but I don’t use them much for regular flashlight purposes.
However, that said, I use my Q8 quite a lot as a candle.
I’m in.

I’m interested. I’ll buy one only if they don’t remove the tripod mount. 1/4” or 1/2” thread it doesn’t matter.

Same here, they even only leave the house twice per year, for showing off and candle use, too big and an unneccessary amount of light. On holidays and weekends away atm I take my LuxeonV-D4 and SP33 for runtimes, so that is 10 times a year, my E2L shorty is carried and used every day.
