Accessories:

Holster, Lanyard

The Nitecore EC4GTS is sold in a cardboard box with the classic yellow / black color of Nitecore. The main features are described on the four sides of the box.

Inside the torch we find the Holster, Lanyard, the multilingual manual and the warranty (5 years).

The case supplied with the Nitecore EC4GTS is cordura with non-elasticated sides and a velcro closure. At the back there is a D-ring at the top and a double loop in the middle,

one of which is a tear-off closure. The Nitecore EC4GTS inserted in the case has no particular movements as the sleeve is a measure.

The Nitecore EC4GTS handles very well due to its particular shape (unibody). This structure improves the cooling and robustness of the EC4GTS compared to a conventional torch. Excellent black opaque anodizing and perfect writing also as dimensions. The head and body, which make up the EC4GTS, are cylindrical and rectangular, making it difficult to roll. On the two narrow sides of the torch body there is a grid design for a better grip.

The head has a cylindrical design with deep cooling fins on both sides. It has a flat bezel and a deep SMO dish with in the center the CREE XHP 35 HD LED with a cool white tint. The glass has anti-reflective treatment.

Above the head we find the two electronic switches with which we will manage the use of the EC4GTS. In the lower part we have the ON / OFF switch (Power) and immediately above the levels management (Mode). The cap of these switches, made of silicone rubber, is slightly protruding from the rest of the body. Good click of the buttons.

To switch on the location indicator, press and hold down the Power button to turn off the flashlight when the light is on. A blue indicator underneath the switches will flash once every 2 seconds to indicate the location of the flashlight.
The standby time in this status is up to 6 months. Turning on the light again will automatically switch off the location indicator.

It is also possible to briefly check the status of the batteries through the blue LED signal; when connecting the tailcap with the body of the EC4GTS for the first time or by pressing the level change switch (Mode) when turned off.

• 3 flashes indicate batteries with a residual capacity of more than 50%
• 2 flashes indicate batteries with a residual capacity of less than 50%
• 1 flash indicates that the batteries are near discharge and require to be recharged.

To power the Nitecore EC4GTS, use batteries with the positive button (button top). As we can see the EC4GTS has physical protection against reverse polarity in both poles and does not allow the use of flat top batteries. At the negative pole there is a double plated spring.

The only unscrewable part of the Nitecore EC4GTS is the tailcap.
The tailcap has a thick rubber ring around and behind the contacts for a good water tightness (IPX 8). The cap is opened and closed by unscrewing or screwing a knurled screw. This aggressive knurling, certainly facilitates the closure considering that the cap must be tightened well for a good seal. At the center of this we have the threaded hole to place the torch on a tripod. There are also two slots to insert the supplied lanyard.

The tailcap is closed without straining, two small stickers inside the tube remind us of the correct insertion of the batteries.

The Nitecore EC4GTS can be placed in the tail stand (candle).

Near other torches.

The standby time in this status is up to 12 months.

BEAM, RUNTIME and BEAMSHOT:

Good the EC4GTS beam without particular artifacts. The deep parabola allows the torch to have a good shot but the distance from the start of the spill from the feet is about one meter. The cool white tint is a beautiful white tending to yellowish.

The runtimes were performed in a closed environment using fully charged 3000 mAh Samsung 30Q batteries.
I would like to point out that the values expressed by the graphs must be taken, above all, as a reference because they are made with different environmental means and conditions from those used in the laboratory.

The first runtime in TURBO mode was made without using ventilation. Before turning off the Nitecore EC4GTS almost completely, flash quickly to warn you to replace the batteries.

The second runtime was done in HIGH mode.

The last runtime was done in TURBO mode with the help of a small fan near the EC4GTS. The graph shows the two curves, without and with forced ventilation.
The intervention of the incorporated Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) you can clearly see from the curve.

CONCLUSIONS:

I was really satisfied with the Nitecore EC4GTS. Excellent construction, good grip and no shortage of lumens and shooting with the CREE XHP 35 HD LED mounted on board.
Good interface for use, with Turbo and UltraLow with direct access, and runtime.
We hope to see an NW version in the future.
Thank you for reading the review.

Excellent review! This light is $67 until midnight Sept 4th, on batteryjunction site.
25% off sitewide Labor Day sale. I think this is an amazing deal for this light.

Thanks for review.
Want to see they make xhp35 hi version.

We hope but I do not think not being a tactical flashlight.

I think Nitecore made too many xhp35 HD light. Especially, P12GTS is a disappointment for me.
