Enogear AA Stainless Steel (AA/14500)

Thanks so much! That is perfect! It is even smaller than the SP10B!
Thanks for taking time to make the photo(s)!
:+1:

As mentioned earlier, I have the OTR M3 with the 5C NW tint. It is spec’ed at 3500-4000K 5C. To me, mine is pretty warm, slightly less warm than the Enogear NW beamshot in post #174. I really like the OTR M3, just wish it was around a true 5000K, but I still highly recommend it to friends. Gotta love that magnetic tailcap.

I hate the lime yellow tint on the OTR NW so much that I gave it away. The Enogear AA NW is way better. It’s rosy color. The Enogear AA in the beamshot comparison above doesn’t look like the two NW I see in person.

My light has a removable 14mm Airayland driver, fixated by a retainer ring with six “lobes” on the inside. The ring has a normal thread, so to loossen it you have to turn it counter clockwise. It is quite hard to get a grip on. You might try it with a pry, but applying force on just one point is seldom any good. I managed to get it done by pushing the outside of a set of needelnose pliers into the inside of the (shallow) lobes. Fortunately there is an even number of lobes. Once the ring is off you can make slots, or drill holes, in it. For next time.

It is difficult to take a beamshot with this light, because of the very bad and low PWM. I can only take in high mode.
Mine has a really good white-rosy hotspot nothing to complain. The corona-spill is not good but you can see it only on the whitewall. I would say mine is like 4D.

Unfair comparison to see the hotspot… Left: 219B from ROT66. Right: EnoSS NW

I emailed Enogear, they are sending a new head. Nice : )

Ordered my NW on Saturday, and got an email on Sunday from Jackie saying it had shipped. Let the wait begin.

Ordered in June 11. I haven’t received it yet. The mail may be lost. I am still waiting for the follow-up process.

jimmy yang thats 3 month! Have you contacted Enogear?
I hope my SSAA light will arrive soon. First i ordered there was something wrong with the paypal payment (did not get through). But the second time i got an email confirmation that my order has been shipped out by mail post.
So i will wait.
Hope that you will get your light or your money. Let us know what they decide.

I contacted in July and August and told me that regular mail may be lost and a refund can be provided.
But the next three mai contacts have not been answered yet.
This kind of flat mail , I was the first time I encountered a packet loss.
I don’t want a refund, I can pay the shipping fee, just want to get it.

My new SS AA/14500 order arrived today, Sep 14, 2018. So the total time from order to delivery was 17 days! It had a Prepaid Germany Postfach label on it so maybe it came through Germany - probably via air. The flashlights tested good and the CNC quality is still there.

FWIW, I can clearly see PWM in both Low and Med Modes if I wave the flashlight in front of my eyes. But I don't pick up on it during normal operations. My wife hasn't complained about her SS AA/14500 either, and she is sensitive to PWM. Maybe the appealing warm tint helps somehow.

I ordered a couple TC8’s, and the Titanium aaa light on 8/27. Shipped 9/1. Tracking on USPS site didn’t register anything until 9/10, when it said it was in Compton, CA, and USPS was awaiting the package. I’ve checked daily, and it hasn’t changed. I figured it might have gotten hung up in customs.

I was looking at the shipping email, and noticed it was sent DHL ecommerce. Figured I’d try DHL tracking. Regular DHL tracking didn’t work, but I found the DHL ecommerce tracking site.

Surprise, surprise, it’s somewhere in Illinois, and scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Will probably come the last mile via USPS.

I love the smell of Titanium in the morning!

I am really hoping that you aren’t as disappointed in the TC8 as I was. I gave it away. Which was kind of cruel to the poor guy who got it. Hope you’re modding it.

That’s the plan. I couldn’t find much of anything about the TC8. I went into it thinking it’s a 40.00 host. Current quote from a pro moder is 100.00 to get it up to snuff. Vinh 45 seems like a decent sort.

If I am a total idiot, please let me know.

By the way, the DGQ/DQG AA is fantastic. I can’t remember what it’s called.

But I thank you. I like it a lot

I hear he does great work. Would probably be more than I would tackle myself.

Glad you are liking that DQG, it is a great little light. Really wish I would have used it more. Glad it’s getting a workout now.

@ jimmy yang
How does it go? Has everything worked out?

I think the TC8 Is a beautiful light (and i like the material) . But low PWM and the simple Lo-mid-high-strobe is a no go for me. To bad many sweet lights still have this old drivers and Uis and require a driver change from the start.
I still was thinking about ordering one additional TC8 to the 14500 SS light i ordered but i have already to many lights i am working on / still on the way from china.
Hope my light arrives soon (~2 weeks in transfer now)

What specifically was wrong with the TC8 other than PWM? The blink after 5 seconds in Low? According to the product page, the user has the option to avoid Strobe and SOS by selecting Group 1 (see description below). Just curious.

FWIW, I'm completely oblivious to the SS AA/14500 PWM during normal operations.

I know the specs and I read them before I bought it. I was hoping for a beam that didn’t have a bunch of blue in it. I don’t have that on any of my other G3 lights. I don’t know what causes it and won’t pretend to know but I don’t like it. Possibly choosing the neutral tint option would have cured that but, it is what it is. The guy I gave it to, who has been into lights since the first battery was invented, couldn’t stand it either and politely asked if he could give it away to some kid that just had to have it. Of course I had no problem with that. Just like convoys junk 3/5 mode driver you are hard pressed to notice the difference between mid and high. I am not sensitive to PWM so that is never an issue for me. The flash on low is annoying though not a deal breaker. I paid for the Ti hoping for decent guts. Well I got the Ti part.

So, well, you asked what was wrong with it. That’s about it. It is a beautiful light and the Ti makes it nice and light to carry around. I never had it long enough to test out the charging circuit but am assuming it works just fine. If I order another one, which I doubt, It will be the neutral tint. That driver just keeps me away now that I actually got to see it at work. To each their own. I am sure there are lots of people who love it as is. I’m just not one of them.

I received Enogear Stainless Steel AA/14500 Flashlight this morning.
Jackie was probably forgotten by another product.
I am very satisfied with the Enogear I received today. It is as good as the picture.
14500/AA can be used, the difference is that 14500 is shorter than AA.
I will consider buying another one and TC8.
I think it is worth having.

My English is very bad.

Good to hear that the light arrived and you are happy with the light!
I hope my package arrives soon. Would like to buy a TC8 (only as a host) but i ordered a BLF D80 ,F3X, the Enogear 14500 SS and the (still expensive) host of the LuckySun UV Light(Ashampoo Snap 2018 09 17 17h09m08s 005 — Postimages) in the last 5 weeks + new les, driver, zwb2 filter . . . . .

So no more lights untill the Sofirn AAA twisty with Yuji led or the FW3A are ready.
And do not worry about your english. The people on BLF are from all arround the World. And we have managed to communicate even if we do not speak perfect english.
