You can message Lexel about a replacement driver, but he might be out of commission since he had surgery on his hand. I don’t think TA has any drivers left but you can always ask. TA was modding the MT09R for a fee, so he might still continue to do so.
I messaged Dale about the driver again, so I’ll let you guys know if he responds. But at this point, I don’t expect to receive a replacement driver from HL.
Sadly I am sold out of drivers at the moment but if there is enough interest I can look into getting another batch.
I had assumed everyone would have drivers from Dale by now so I planned my last batch to run out before that happened so I would not be stuck with them.
Haikelite doesn’t seem to care about their customers at all. We bought the light, that seems to be enough for them. I held off on getting a TA driver because I chose to put my faith in Haikelite but they burned me yet again and now it’s too late. I’m stuck with a lemon of a light. Hopefully one day I can figure out a way to put this waste of a light to good use, as for now, the only decent thing I have from it is the batteries…
I’ll never, ever buy another Haikelite, I’ll recommend no one else does as well. Them’s the breaks.
I received a driver and reflector from him a month after I sent the payment for my Haikelite MT01. They actually sent me 2 of each, leaving a message saying:
Thank you for your patience. We are sorry at Haikelite to have cause some problems, along with some human external factors. We have sent you 2x order to make up We have a lot of work. I hope you will forgive us, with MT09R, SC26 taking almost all of our time.
I wouldn’t break trust over this. Happens. However
The thing that really burns me (pun intended) is that there is a better, fixed version that has been offered and delivered for a lower price than us early adopters could have had the light.
I want to like this light. I love the form factor, it could be great, but it isn’t. Haikelite promised to fix it but they haven’t.
If we could get together enough people, maybe we could have a run of custom drivers done. How many people would be interested? What are people willing to pay?
Ahh jebus, I can’t believe I missed Lexel’s post… I’ll contact him. Otherwise TA, if you do another run, let me know, I’d definitely be interested in one.
Same for me, I received a pm back in June the replacement driver had been shipped. Emailed Haikelite multiple times, but never received a response. PayPal protection ran out (which is my own fault for letting happen, I guess I’m too trusting sometimes). 4 months have passed and nothing ever showed up. I’ve given up at this point. It is very unfortunate Haikelite feels ok about taking people’s money for a product they rushed to market that had flaws and defects from the very beginning and appears to be ignoring requests to make it right for some of us. O well, I won’t ever be considering another light from them.
