Astrolux S43 - New model (On Sale)

I like the finger grooves on the battery tube and think it makes the light look better. And I can live with the bezel if that’s what is going to ship. Not that big of a deal to me.

Sadly the BG battery tube is there to stay as they have already been produced it seems.

Are they going to make a stainless steel S43S version of this as the S41S and S42S?

That I do not know, if the S43 sells well I bet they would, with the current looks I am not sure if it will sell good enough for that though.

I found this on the Banggood page

Is this wrong stuff from the old S42?
I see problems:
You can’t ramp from off, it shuts off after 1.5 seconds.
You have two electronic lock outs: NarsilM and breathing light.

@Texas Ace
Can you test this on the prototype?
I hope Banggood wrote BS

Yes, that is just a copy / paste from the old S42.

They decided for some reason to wire the LED’s so that both of them are used for the charging and Narsil does not get an LED in the switch. In fairness though I did not realize I would need to specify this in detail until it was too late.

The driver uses narsil 1.3 and all functions are the same. TomE just had to make some back end changes to work with the different pinout that this driver used.

It does have the normal lockout function in Narsil but nothing more.

So it does breath green and and I can switch this off?

If the pinout is different then I can’t flash regular Andúril to it? I need to modify firmware?

If you wait a bit, I am sure someone will make an Andúril version.

The switch LED’s only light up if you plug in the USB for charging. You can change this by moving one of the wires on the driver if you desire to re-enable the Narsil indicator LED.

Correct, the pinout will need to be changed a little. Pretty sure that TK make this fairly simple in Anduril.

If it is popular I am sure someone will at some point as well.

Good, which wire do I need to move? - I don’t care about charging in the light

I only have the prototype drivers and I am not sure what the final drivers / wires setup will be at this point.

This is the charge PCB design though:

You will just need to move one of the wires from either the Charge or standby ports to the main driver IND pad.

The charge pad should be the red LED and the standby the Green LED but like I said, I assembled my driver myself, not 100% sure on the final driver.

Ok, thanks TA

Thank you

The prototype tube does look better. Even the production light is sorely tempting me, though. I’m not usually up for this type of light, but wouldn’t mind an easy way to try the Narsil UI.

Hi TA, is a straight MCPCB swap easy to do on this light??

Yeah, that is fairly simple, just unscrew the bezel, remove optic, swap mcpcb, reverse process.

any thoughts about replacing the leds with xplhi?

Thanks
