Astrolux S43 - New model (On Sale)

I only have the prototype drivers and I am not sure what the final drivers / wires setup will be at this point.

This is the charge PCB design though:

You will just need to move one of the wires from either the Charge or standby ports to the main driver IND pad.

The charge pad should be the red LED and the standby the Green LED but like I said, I assembled my driver myself, not 100% sure on the final driver.

Ok, thanks TA

Thank you

The prototype tube does look better. Even the production light is sorely tempting me, though. I’m not usually up for this type of light, but wouldn’t mind an easy way to try the Narsil UI.

Hi TA, is a straight MCPCB swap easy to do on this light??

Yeah, that is fairly simple, just unscrew the bezel, remove optic, swap mcpcb, reverse process.

any thoughts about replacing the leds with xplhi?

Thanks

I just got a shipping notice so someone is working in China

You want to use the spiked tip on the back of this little flashlight to fight bears? :person_facepalming:

I got the info from TA that the green LED works as driver LED, like in other NarsilM lights. The red LED is on when charging and off when finished.
It is a last minute change. We will see if all shiped lights got this.

It’s not “bears”: it’s drop bears

Are there stand alone charge pcb’s like this for sale anywhere?

Not that I am aware of. The design will be uploaded open source but not sure it will do any good as I can not find the IC they wanted to use outside of the china. The only way I was able to test it was with the prototype they sent me.

Thanks TA

Got one in today and the switch light is on when light is off - don’t have to change anything - and I now have protection against drop bears

Lucky you! Mine arrives in Melbourne last Friday but Australia Post haven’t delivered yet, awaiting clearance, so I’m still vulnerable!

Yes, they made a last minute change and now the indicator LED works like it should.

The looks of this thing wasn’t enough to override all of the goodness in it and keep me from ordering a couple of these. They’ve shipped, but I’m still waiting for them to arrive. Perhaps we’ll get lucky and the BG/Mateminco folks will read this forum and in addition to the smaller battery tube, they’ll offer an additional tube (can you say prototype?) that can be ordered later. That way we’d get all that this offers with a much better looking light.

Nah, just change out the head from the S42 to the S43.

That would be a great change already. And ask them to make a solderable tailcap for the spring lol. It’s impossible to solder to aluminium in a flashlight, and I want to replace the single phosphor bronze spring for a much more capable dual BeCu spring array.

I just looked in NealsGadgets @ M4DM4X and the 18650 tube that is being offered with the Mateminco S03 looks to be the same one that was in the photo of the prototype. Does anybody know if this is the same light, and the tube would work? Or how to contact Mateminco to see if they offer the tube only for sale? Just curious.
