Need advice for bike light

Trying to attach some lights (probably S2’s or some type of 90deg head light like the X1R) to mountain bikes and need input on the attaching method. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this or this . I know that the Fenix mounts are supposed to be the best but I have multiple bikes to do so I’m trying to save a little dough.

I use the two-fish model (with S2+) on my commuting road bike and it works well. Make sure the light is positioned in the mount so it’s balanced, and it handles bumps pretty well.

I’ve never used either of the mounts you asked about. For road biking/commuting I use these. I don’t remember which AE store I bought them from, but there are lots of apparently identical items from numerous sellers.

I have never mountain biked with them, but for paved and dirt roads, they’re great, and I can afford to have them on all my bikes. I’ve ridden nearly 3k miles with them in the last few years.

I use the twofish mounts also, actually with a TN4A in the winter time. I like it because it is easy to remove the light, and it does a reasonably good job holding the light still. There is a bit of noticeable vibration in the beam due to how heavy the TN4A is. For a small light it would likely be not noticeable. Also, for my big light I needed to supplement the length of the strap, but you would not have to do that.

I considered trying the olight one, but have not actually done so yet. Looks pretty good to me.

Thanks for all of the replies!

Was also looking at this . I’ve seen a couple of mixed reviews on BLF. Light looks ok, but I’m concerned about the mount for singletrack mountain biking.
