Wanted: American English proofreader aka copywriter

I think BlueSwordM should be disqualified.

ChibiM asked for American English, not Canadian English.

ChibiM should be aware that there will be a lot of "eh's" added during BlueSwordM's proof readings

No way, hoser! <-- my best impression of a Canadian.

haha, good one

Take er easy eh <--- my best impression of a Canadian

Hahahah.. a little more towards American English yes.

So if more people would like to help, awesome.. Just send me a PM if you would like to help.

Guys, Canada is in North America, so if BlueSwordM is Canadian, then he is also American. :stuck_out_tongue:

Iā€™m sure BlueSwordM will do the proofreading well enough. But, if you want a second opinion, Iā€™ll be willing to look it over for you. Iā€™m probably just a bit less qualified than BlueSwordM though. Iā€™m about 9/10 for spelling (but if I take it slow, I can get 10/10) and about 8/10 for proper American English grammar.

I do consider myself to be very good at picking the best words to convey tone and fit the context of what is being said. Sometimes, even words that are considered to be synonyms convey an ever-so-slightly different meaning depending on the context. One word might be a much better fit than another in a given phrase. This is often hard to get right in translating from one language to another, or writing in a language that you may be less familiar with.

ā€™Sine me ups. Iā€™s be veri gud at Merican Anglishā€™ā€¦.

Seriously, Iā€™d be glad to do this ChibiM. I have actually done some of this in the past.

Let me know my friend.

Fixed it for you

Yeah sorry guys. But, eh, I donā€™t really care that much. Sorry again.

On the topic of being fluent in a language, if you think you Americans are bad in English with the alots, your, neednā€™t, you should see some of my Quebecker friends :person_facepalming:

Iā€™ve had to correct some of my fellow students on an English essay, and had I not been there to ā€œpre-correctā€ them, they would have probably failed their English course instantly, since they were on the verge of failing already, and would have to retake the course.

And yeah, Iā€™d be glad for other people to correct my mistakes, if I do any. Hasnā€™t happened yet, but could.

Hahaha!

I forgot about the stereotype that Canadians apologize a lot.

By the way, if anyone catches a spelling or grammar error in my posts, I'll be glad to fix it as well.

And, yes, I know I make every sentence its own paragraph.

I think it looks better online.

lol.

If anyone likes to help, just let me know through PM, I might ask everyone to do a little bit :D

I was just reading the new Amazon listings for the new Sofirn lights, thinking to myself, why donā€™t they just hire a proofreader? And then I see this thread. Iā€™m glad you want to sound professional, ChibiM. These are not as bad as some, but for selling a product to an American audience on Amazon, they should be fixed. Here are some highlights.
ā€œTake you worries away about the powerā€
ā€œFour Light Groups and Longtime Lastingā€
ā€œWhat You Got:ā€
ā€œWith the remarkable UI, it can be played as a toy or just use it as a toolā€
ā€œWe are all ears and aim to bring you satisfaction or surprise if you contact us.ā€

Ok, I don't think my English is as bad as that, but I can totally understand that native speakers can be annoyed by spelling/grammar mistakes. But at the same time I feel like you are probably more used to it than other languages. Because there are so many people using English as their 2nd 3rd or 99th language.

Chibi I saw where you said.... Gotta .. That's kinda a bad habit . I heard my wife say "wanna " and thought hmmm where did she get that from ?

maybe the gotta or wanna was from a video you did ..I forget now .

I hate when people say ...Prolly >> it's kinda retarded

ā€œLet me know, my friend.ā€

I fixed it for you.

I will admit that I also went over BlueSwordMā€™s post with a fine toothed comb. (Or is it ā€œfine-toothed combā€?) But he passed the test!

Although, ChibiM, if youā€™re Dutch, then you probably speak pretty much flawless English. All the Dutch that I know have truly amazing language skills, with a special knack for English.

-Iā€™m not a fan of the gerund here: ā€œwas having to.ā€ Simply state ā€œI had to correct many copiesā€¦ā€ It will make very much happy good prose. :innocent:

-Totes bro, everyone knows itā€™s just ā€œprolā€ now.

Thatā€™s to much to ask. Their not going to care. They should of learned long ago.
