Excellent question.
And does the SC31 begin charging automatically when the USB is plugged in, or do you need to turn the light “on” to start charging?
Angry blue might be more 7500K-8000K. This one look pretty warm in the pictures (in the Aliexpress store reviews). I would guess 4000K-5000K, but it’s hard to judge pictures.
I’m very excited about the SC31. It’s a good price and looks to be an easy mod. Click to turn on/off, press and hold to choose brightness, tail standing, usb rechargeable! :+1: I hope it fits 16mm MCPCB. If that’s the case I’ll buy a bunch put in some E21A on 16mm boards from Clemence and gift them to muggles.
Before I would gift them to muggles, I would check that is has low voltage protection. I don’t think the included battery is protected? So if it doesn’t have lvp, I’d swap in a protected 18650.
No LVP, but the indicator does remind of low voltage. If the voltage down to 2.5V, light turns off, just recharge it with the USB charging cable, it comes back to life.
I use to feel that way about Sofirn lights but now I don’t care even if they use 8000k blue-white emitters because the majority of Sofirn lights are not glued and very easy to swap out the mcpcb for other emitters. Just buy some 16mm mcpcb with 4000k or 4500k E21A from Virence.com or a bunch of other emitter options from Kaidomain and MTN and swap it in. Sofirn lights are very mod friendly.
Personally, I think this is a great choice. CCT offerings such as this is one thing that has attracted me to Sofirn from the very beginning. Besides the fact they make a great light of course.
