Lumintop GT mini 123,000cd 702M 30q 1,243 lumen. thank you djozz and sofirn!

Got mine today…indexed the battery tube…

Cleaned all contacts with NO-OX and swapped out the steel screws for brass…

The contacts on mine were very dirty…

VTC5A’s off the charger at 4.21v netted… 5,330lms. at Turn On….topped them off again and got pretty good repeatability 5,360lms…

Now to bypass the springs…… maybe a copper pcb……just because I can…. :smiling_imp:

Really? 692M distance? According to our test, it’s about 550 meters on average.

Is there any good way to test the max distance except using machine?

Why is amazon never treat me good ? I have been with them for 10 years. Although I am not a prime member… paid on Friday, and sorfin q8 hasn’t shipped yet…

Amazon Prime member paid on Friday, and their lights were shipped out Sunday…

How can they do that to me?? I order pet stuff from chewy and items were shipped out the next day…

Sorry buddy…i think it will ship soon…but im sure they got allot of orderes in…GOOD LUCK MAN.

Thank you. It is hard being a flashaholic.

Yeah it is…i was lucky mine shipped so quick…hope yours shippes this week.

I’m a longtime Prime member and ordered it on 9/20 and mine hasn’t shipped, due Friday???
What’s Prime about that? :rage:

I was the 2nd one to sign up for AZUS on the list….
I apparently will be the last to receive my Q8.

Guess you guys don’t know how amazon warehouse works. After FBA inventory received, the units in boxes are reserved, then amazon staffs make them available unit by unit. If they are not that busy, they can make it in hours, but it seems they are very busy these days, it takes days or a week to make all the units available in listing.

Some orders were taken out of the box and ship directly that’s why it’s fast. Some orders need to wait for all units are available that’s why it takes several days to ship.

I never went to FBA warehouse, but it’s my experience. Hope I’m helping. :smiley:

Sofirn…
It is listed as “Prime” which means 2 day delivery… That isn’t happening!
I’m not saying it is your responsibility…. butt I’m paying a good deal of money for quick shipping.

ordered and paid for 5 lights, all will be here Wed in N. WI.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m no cool white expert but the tint is fairly even across most of the beam and not much blue or green. I didn’t plan on keeping them but they arent so bad it turns out.

Will probably keep them until the longer tube is released. Wish more of Cree’s stuff was like the XP-L HI

I got 120kcd as well. The easiest way for me is to measure out 10 meters exactly (plus an inch for the lux meter) against a wall. Then I mark the point where the led goes (10 meters plus one inch). I set the lights led at this mark and turn on turbo. I walk to the wall and move my lux meter up and down to find the brightest spot, then left and right to again find the brightest spot. Then double check that area just to make sure that’s the brightest. This usually takes 30 seconds which is about the right time to take the measurement.

You can turn the light on at a lower level and find the general brightest section of the beam before going to turbo. This way you know the general area to look at.

On my light, I used button top 30Q from Banggood. Cleaned the contacts with a paper towel.
Texas_Ace Lumen Tube calibrated with Maukka’s S2+.

Turn on = 4600lm
20s = 4400lm
30s = 4330lm

Candela = 120kcd = 692 meters

Parasitic drain = 127 micro amps
switch light off = 22 micro amps

I may go to the local hardware store tomorrow and see if they have brass screws the right size. They have a nice selection.

I checked the bump resistance by slamming the base of the light as hard as I could into my palm. No effect.

I could have sworn I saw a driver picture with an extra capacitor added somewhere on it. I took a close look at my driver and I don’t see anything unusual except for a double stack of capacitors on C2.

According to FlashyMike an extra cap here can help, but he added one a lot larger than on the factory Sofirn driver. Maybe this smaller cap is sufficient?

You mean the old stuff, before the XP-L2, 50.2, 70.2, etc…?

This newer generation doesn’t look as nice, but it performs a lot nicer. Higher current handling, high output, lower forward voltage, etc…

So it’s all a tradeoff.

Not all items are available for 2 day shipping. What amazon does is not guarantee 2 day delivery, but 2 day shipping. So once it actually ships then it will be 2 days to get to you.

That might help a little. It helps me a lot. A bunch of my orders sometimes don’t make it to the $25 to qualify for free shipping. Plus I watch a lot of Prime Video.

I will never use xpl2 or xpg2/3 again. Lh351 and luxeon v serve a flood role way better. Sst20/40 over xpg anything too. 50.2 is just OK. 70.2 is in a league of its own depending on the host. Im sure I’ll like xhp35 but wont use it till a better boost comes out.

Amazon will easily credit you a month of Prime if they miss their guarantee (just do an online chat). However, what toddcshoe said still applies. The lights were posted for sale but not ready to ship yet and it said as much on the sale page.

I have Samsung MJ1 batteries, 10A max draw, will these suffice for the Q8?
