Hey it already comes with freebie batts! Then once they expire in about 5 minutes of run time get one of those male 12v cigarette car adapters, wire the whole array ( I think ya’ll need a big resistor somewhere in the run), put some kind of handle on it, and man you got yourself one helluva cheap spotlight ya can even plug into a car batt/starter booster. Plus it’s always 3AAA revertible.
It could be the perfect Dollar Store Mega Blaster.
It's pitch dark outside so I just tested it and it lights up a tree at 100 yards really good. At 150 yards it is not that bright anymore, but for a buck twenty five, more than reasonable I would say.
Nope, not April fooIs. Started this thread because I was a little surprised what it puts out for the price. Being "Budget" Light Forum, this would qualify as a true budget light.
Yeah, it still sucks overall, but hey! Never had a flashlight body as thin and light as this one. Just for fun, I'm going to use it every day and see how long before I need to send it to flashlight heaven.
Was looking at my Aliexpress orders from many years ago and the single AA $1.99 lights I have are all still working fine and get used a lot. None of them have failed yet in four years. They are also of much higher build quality than this one.
I have around 10 of them and all put to good use around our house and my cousins house. Still don't get how they can make a light like this last so long and only charge $1.99 including shipping.
I bought some last yr. for bedside lights.(MECO)
Fine with AA. but 14500——- 2 seconds and “frazzzzzle”“’. gone.
even though they say AA/14500.
Not worth the trouble of contacting them.
The old Ultrafire and others, little 68’s.
Q5 chip. are much better, at $2.50 to $4 each
and they run Li-Ion. Ni-Cads.
MECO One Emitter mid last yr. Zoom. Q5?.
Average on AA. Hmmm on 14500. Maybe Ni Cads.
I prefer a little Astrolux AO1 at 105lum, third level. Nowadays. around $7.50ishAUD
Those cheapies ok as novelty But that’s all they are.
I have a 2,5in. Moonlight only. Intermittent tail sw (A quick tap sorts it.)
Too tiny for my fingers to play with.
under my pillow for walkies. 3 for $3.40 AUD coupla yrs ago for fun., throwaways.
One still working.
There are a zillion versions nowadays. take your pick.
In between that Astrolux and 3 x C8’s. I have around 10 or 12.
and I only play at it.
There still some clasic Sipik SK68 clones that can be found on ebay for a couple bucks or less, though they are nothing like the real original SK68, but still better in most cases than the 99 cent 3-watt Police lights we still see offered by the millions on ebay.
I had 3 of those, and all of the lenses were loose. I used some glue to put them back, and that worked. I was disappointed, however, and have not bought more.
