*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

I’m interested for one, if price will be good.

Please show me where people had batteries venting, I’d like to look further into this.

Search bar is your friend: DBSAR Lantern Mini-Review: -Zanflare T1 (UPDATE, Cell heating flaw discovered, Post #11

Yes…… PLEASE show us.
Im pretty sure this is simply BS. I dont think there has been any problems with the Zanflare T1 unless a defective battery is used or the unit is bad. Some said there was a design issue but if that was true, it would affect ALL T1s. I have three and none have issues……… I love them and patiently await the LT1

You should read the whole thread and not just the first post

No one wants you to leave the group buy. But with the interest list over 1000, if you do decide to not purchase 3 lanterns some one will scoop them up eventually. To “lighten” things up a bit, pretend you are about to go swimming here:

! !

I know less about when this will happen then those more experienced. If I needed a lantern for this fall/winter I would be definitely looking elsewhere. If I needed one for next spring/summer camping, I would be holding on for now. I have a few people I want to gift this lantern to, so the timing is not critical for me.

All that said, time for an update to the interest list.

A couple of those above said the number interested might change depending on price. Price estimates have been bantered about, likely between $30 and $40 each without batteries. Nothing is settled, so that is only an estimate. If you want an update to the quantity based on my estimate, just post here or PM me.

I’m missing numbers between 1029 and 1035, ( i didn’t see those posted or missed them.

Hi Sbslider, based on your price estimate I am interested in one more of these lanterns which would bring the total for me to three (3). Thank you.

But on the bright side, the United Nations and the associated world leaders are now aware of the project.

I was indeed talking about the discussion under DBSARs review, seems like I forgot to insert the link. And yes he is the only one who had a venting battery (so far). It wasn’t my intention to start a panic about this, I just wanted everybody informed about this flaw, so that they can use the lantern savely.

no worries…. we all make mistakes…… Will stick with the cl23s as the cl25 replacements and wait for the BLF lantern to come out to replace them all

What flaw? Im pretty sure that is misleading. I think the “general” consensus was Den either had a defective unit or used a defective battery to do his test and (I may be wrong) but I dont think he repeated/published the test using a different battery. If it was the battery, using that battery would have been unadvisable in any light. I dont believe others that tested the T1 produced temps that were above acceptable limits. Sure the design could be better, but its not problematic if common sense is used. Saying it is dangerous when you use a defective battery should only be necessary when educating someone that doesnt know anything about Li-ion batts. I have 3 T1s(gave one to my 92yo mum) and I dont think you can beat em for $16…. Also, I have something to use to make the 2.5+ year wait for THIS Lantern bearable.

Nice picture!

I have an interesting story to go along with the snippet of your quote that sums up the thinking entirely…

I had been with Verizon Fios ever since they came to my area, which, at the time, was almost nine years. I liked the service (I still have it), but it was costing a lot of money. Both Comcast and Direct TV were bombarding my mailbox with offers to get me to switch to them from Fios. Money was tight, so I called Verizon. The conversation with the CSR went something like this:

Them: Thanks for being one of the earliest Fios customers Sir. What can I do for you?
Me: Thanks for the Thanks! I’m calling now because money is tight and I’m looking at switching to one of these cheaper services that are clamoring for my business.
Them: I’m sorry to hear that. Is there anything wrong with your service?
Me: No. My service is just fine, but the money…
Them: Who is it that you are looking into? As a longtime Fios customer, you are already in our best pricing category for returning customers.
Me: I’m looking into Comcast and Direct TV.
Them: Okay. Hold for a few moments for me please…

Them: Sir?
Me: Yes?
Them: As I mentioned earlier, you are already in our best pricing category. If you leave, we’ll be disappointed to see you go, but we’ll see you when you come back.

Verizon has so many customers that losing one to another company will result in a zero net loss for them. They probably signed up 100 customers nationwide for Fios while they were on the phone with me.

The loss of one is the gain of many more.

I’m interested put me on the list please thanks

Interested in one. Please add me to the list.
