LoL!
Is this a 3v led? Being designed for the automotive industry that wouldn’t be my first guess. Why is “boost” in the name?
Yeah the CSLNM1 is available in 1000+ but there’s no point in doing a group buy for that one when this HX is almost certainly better in every way.
More lumens AND more intensity
Enderman:…
Can’t wait, this will be a serious upgrade over the lack flat, unlike the CSLNM1.TG…LoL!
Lol fixed

It is, same as all their other automotive LEDs like the black flat and the others they make.
This LED will be THE LED for throwers. It’s alsmost perfect (integrated copper pcb would be perfect). No more 12V XHP-35 HI LEDs!
Here is the datasheet.
The brightness curve is very steep. It might even go up to 15-20A.
But unfortunately we will probably need new pcbs for it.

Yeah, I was remarking that if they do the same with this HX, it would be worth doing a GB in order to get them, instead of waiting until smaller qty orders are available.

I would certainly be down for that
- Brightness @ 6A: 1320 - 2010lm
- Luminance @ 6A: 220 - 335cd/mm^2
- Vf @ 6A: typ. 3.35V
- official maximum current: 6.6A
The waiting for this is gonna kill me .
This looks very nice. Was planning a flat black in my D1s, but now I will wait for this.

I couldn’t get the datasheet to open. Is the range you have there from different bins? Low forward voltage too, making it possibly a good match for direct-drive multi-emitter high output throwers.

Yes, it’s the entire range of all the brighness bins. The amazing thing is that you can still overdrive it…
Seeing the datasheet, it indeed appears to be the best LED out there.
I will gladly throw money at them in a group buy.

Or better yet, get a manufacturer (Sofirn? Lumintop?) to make the next multi-emitter light with this, and then have a group buy for that light. It would generate more sales for Osram that way, and probably get the LEDs into our grubby little hands a bit sooner if a manufacturer gets on board.
EDIT: Imagine a light similar to the Q8, made a bit larger for 4x 21700 cells, with also a bit larger, and deeper reflector, and four of these LEDs.
Color: Cx=0,32, Cy=033, acc. to CIE 1931 (white)
That, unfortunately, is 6100K. Definitely not what I’m looking for in a thrower, and I hope not the only option when these become available.
But unfortunately we will probably need new pcbs for it.
Isn’t this the 4040 footprint that Lumileds use for a couple of leds and that led4power has ready boards for?

Nah, I would want Vinh to put one in an Acebeam T21 or TN40, unless Sofirn or Lumintop can make similar performing hosts (plausible).
Having the freedom to have the bare emitters to mod yourself is nice.

Well, yeah, that too. How about one of these in the BLF GT?
GT host is too big for my liking, but the GT with this would be insane!
Supposedly it’s already in full production.
It will be several months before we see them even appear on distributor sites, then more months before they get them in stock, and who knows how long until they start selling them in multiples less than 1000.

May be waiting a year or more until that happens…
