Have you seen this 3 x XHP70 soda can light before? (similar to Haikelite MT03)

Thanks for all the info, i know i can always count on BLFers.

I think if it can achieve 8000 or 9000 lumens it is still a very decent light, chinese LEDs or XHP70. Just that the efficiency might be different, though with 4 x 18650 that would not be so apparent except in a few extreme usage cases.

Sillen, do update this thread after you have received the light, maybe you might even be able to do a ceiling bounce test + lux meter and see how it fares relative to your other known lights.

I am also looking at the customised/DIY 夜巡者 Avaritia NA40 but it’s OOS.

I have it

Oh….it uses the 7070 emitter, it’s already in the description, though the listing title is wrong. Gotta go Taobao and search what the heck is that.
If i can get it to around usd 40 for 11/11 then it’d be great.

Confirmed with the seller via aliwangwang chat, it’s 7070 alright.

Q3为便携型的小型高亮度手电 采用7070三灯设计.

配合本店动力型电池VTC6 30A放电超,频档可达到13000LM。

It’s might be these….

7x7mm die, 7070.

15 watter basically. 1700lm. 5100lm light. Compared to the BLF Q8, ain’t that bad esp if you want a floodier light, could be cheaper though. (for me it’s usd 52 from Taobao)
If only these are 20W, then it’d be very decent as well.

No go at current price.

I might as well pay double the price and get double the lumens, same form factor, with a Olight X7 branded + reliable flashlight with more resale value.

where do you buy olight X7 for 100 bucks

Feelin silly. Got sucked in by 3 x XHP70 in the title. Can hopefully swap some parts out if it doesn’t perform

Ah! Let’s not forget that they are tested at 1.25A at 12V.

Perhaps that is only the tested amperage, and not rated max. The XHP70 is rated at 2.4A at 12V.

So that means the XHP70 clone may be able to push 3000 lumens at its max rated power level. So 9000 lumens may not be far off.

However, the NW version of the MT03 only achieves about 8000lm under load.

Ok it’s more like usd 113, not usd 100. (there is a rmb 100 coupon voucher, can see it when you add to cart)

We then consolidate it with other stuff and ship it over, for normal goods it’s quite cheap even by China standards. Folks in HK, Taiwan, Malaysia etc do it this way from Taobao.

If we are lucky, we might see some Taobao sellers offering either a 10% or even 20% discount on 11/11 singles day, which is a very very big thing in China.

It’s not tooooo bad, esp if you do not own the BLF Q8 or something. \

Do a ceiling bounce test and see what it can do.

Unfortunately in this case, it’d be very difficult to dispute via Aliexpress’s ESCROW service to get a partial refund. You can try though, if you have the time and can prove with pictures that the LEDs used are not XHP 70.

I believe it’s quite unlikely even though Cree’s spec lists it that way (the chinese usually don’t do it such a way), even the chinese specs show it as 6V 2500mA and 12V 1250mA, 1500-1900lm. 15W
It’s most probably not a 30W emitter, efficiency performance aside.

Well yeah.

It’s probably an XHP50 7070 sized emitter looking at the specs. Not bad, but not too good in terms of power density at all.

Mail’s in! No batteries until this evening. Got my LX1010BS Portable Digital Lux Meter at the same time so will put this next to BLF & Sofirn Q8 and see how we go.

Edit: First impression, it’s brighter than Sofrn Q8. Will have to wait until it’s dark to do an amateur ceiling bounce. Sure gets hot quick!

The 3x XHP70 light that comes to mind is the Utorch UT03 that never ended up happening.
Can’t wait to see how it stacks up to the Q8!

Seems some chineese fake XHP70.2

Bro! Please do that! Am sure many people would be interested. First impressions seems somewhat ok, though it’s not the 9000 lumens light it was meant to be (never mind the Taobao 13000lm thingy).

By the way, pls also do a ceiling bounce with the BLF Q8. I think i read somewhere that sometimes these ceiling bounce tests might favour the more throwy lights and the Sofirn has 2X the cd over the BLF Q8 which in turn probably has 2X the cd of this light.

And besides, it’s in NW (though not high CRI), so how bad can that be.

PS. What batteries are you using? For sure these need at least Samsung 30Qs.

And if you are saying that it is getting hot quick, it might be gunning those pretty hard. Might even be able to squeeze out more with just simple spring bypasses.

edit - actually in some Taobao links, i am seeing some 7070 emitters rated at 6V 5A. So yes, 30W per emitter. There are some which are 15W, 18W though.

Some folks here might even be able to swap those chinese 7070s out with their spare XHP70s within 10 mins or so, don’t even need to change the drivers if they are driving the LEDs decently hard, meaning that with XHP70s the light would be putting out more light while running cooler. The possibilities……

Then next week after the holidays i might try to get it for under rmb 300. Maybe tomorrow even (most of them are already working esp on TB), counting on you Sillen!

I like this little corner on the benchtop ’cause it’s all white’ish. I put Samsung S7 between the bowl and the lux meter sensor. S7 using Lux Meter app.

Results are:
D4S XPL HI 680
ROT66 Nichia came with VCT6 from Neal (blinks 4V) 1070
BLF Q8 VCT6 from Oz (Blinks 3.8V) 1200
Sofirn Q8 VCT6 from Oz (Blinks 3.8V) 900
S41 Nichia 250
Rome Q30 Banggood supplied 30Q’s (Measured 4V) 1400
S70S 800
BLF A6 260

Winner

Thank you Sillen. Very useful result for me also, as i’m also looking to get a ROT66 with the 219B emitters.

It looks to be around 6000-7000 lumens stock depending on how you look at it. Not too bad.
