Excellent work, as always! :+1:

I see you use flickr for hosting. How do I get to your page?

Here’s a better comparison.

Haven’t got it yet. I have no doubt it will be amazing, though!

MT70 Plus vs MT35 Plus beam comparison

Yes I would like to see the beam shot with a shaved dome.

any tested real lumen and cd counts on the MT70 plus yet?

Awesome comparison!

It’s usd 129 on Taobao. RMB 888. Wonder if there will be any 11/11 “singles day” discount.

Shipping to this part of the world (Singapore) would be usd 14, via “sensitive air” on 3rd party forwarders, 3-4 days.
It would even be lower last time when these electronic products weren’t barred, around 7 usd shipping. Is legit/reliable shipping via Taobao official forwarders.

Have a link to the $129 price on Taobao, I couldn't find it myself?

Here……

Hope there is going to be some 11/11 discount.

I also check on lazada and shopee, which are basically my country’s version of banggood/gearbest. Gotta search both astrolux and mateminco. That’s how i got the BLF Q8 at usd 36 only, inclusive of “free shipping”.

Thanks for the links! Unfortunately when I click any of those links on Taobao with any browser, nothing happens, none of them work. Maybe that website is only for Chinese buyers?

They haven’t pages in English, have they?

If you use google chrome, it just translates the page to eng if you right click and choose translate to english.

Taobao is basically a Chinese version of eBay, exclusively for Chinese market, though there are now enterprising e-services in China that will buy and ship it outside of China for a fee.

Thanks tatasal. I also had a look at Lazada Singapore and they had a light there that is discontinued everywhere else, so I thought I could grab it but then read they don't ship internationally.

Just saw this. That’s wierd, use a VPN and connect to HK? Windscribe works for me and has 10GB free monthly. More than sufficient unless you have forgotten to turn it off over a couple of days while watching youtube.

I only have intermittent issues with Taobao’s shopping cart and My Purchased Items List, during which i’d switch on the VPN and it should go away. I used to change DNS settings (eg google 8.8.8.8) and sometimes it’d work. VPN is much easier and practical.

But yeah, sometimes you’d never know with that Great Firewall of China + political influences.
Countries like Singapore/Malaysia isn’t even predominantly chinese, not like Taiwan.

Yeah, i suppose Lazada/Shopee serves south east asian countries predominantly. Sofirn has a Thai and Indonesian/Malaysian “storefront” on shopee.

Alibaba group also upped its share in Lazada Group recently i think, it’s now 83%. Basically I think how these sites work is that china sellers sell on the platform, i then order it and the seller sends to a “Lazada” central warehouse, which a sub-contractor operates (in this case for Singapore it’s NinjavanSG). NinjavanSG partners with its own freight carrier and consolidates the order bound for Singapore and the last-mile Ninjavan courier delivers it to me. Same for any other country that Lazada is serving. This is a 1 order 1 delivery package basis.

It’s a wee bit different from how i get my stuff “directly” from Taobao. For those i use the official Taobao appointed consolidating forwarders and i have full control of how many items i consolidate and when i wanna consolidate. ie 1 order, 1 delivery is possible. 10 orders (each other can contain multiple items as well), 1 delivery is also possible.

With that said, if i do not wish to use the official TB appointed consolidating forwarders, i can also use “3rd party” forwarders. I need to use 3rd party forwarders for my LED flashlights and li-ion batteries, or any other “sensitive items” like liquids that normal carriers do not usually want to carry. Shipping cost is going to be a bit higher as well for those items.
I believe there are both official and 3rd party forwarders operating in countries like NZ, AU and even USA, especially serving the chinese customers living there.

If you are doing bulk orders (say you are a seller living overseas looking for goods), 1688.com, also Alibaba’s, would give a better price.

Anyway, just some heads up for some of you out there, as you might be able to read chinese (or have someone able to read it) and your area is serviceable….you’ll just need to ask the correct people, and some of them might know. Like the number of locals who are able to TB is increasing, but i can also tell you a huge portion here do not. They know Amazon though.

Back to topic, I have aliwangwang (the Taobao official messaging agent) the seller, the Mateminco store on TB is going to have a 11/11 promo. Some stores might not run sales. I just don’t know if it’s rmb 20 off for every 200 or it might even be higher. The base price could also change.

So it very well might work out to be usd 116 or even usd 10x.
If it’s just the MT35 Plus head, it should go under usd 100. Useful for those who already have Astrolux/Mateminco tubes.

Shipping to SEA countries, Taiwan etc is pretty low, but i think most folks there are already experts in this area.
