Acebeam X70 - 40000 lm - 8*18650 - Active fan cooling

I think the 3 fan design could have been way better at cooling. Like 25,000 continous, not just 8 minutes. It’s a let down.

It can only do the highest for 55 seconds probably because it draws 24A from each battery. Plus the heat.

Will those 18650 run on its knees or ? i feel sorry for them almost :frowning: Still curious how the old proto with the 3 fans on 40k how much runtime they got etc… guess we will never find out.

I don’t know what you’re saying. Is that a typo?

hm okay, yea i meant will that push the batteries limit to max or is there still room to push more lumens if heat is not an issue?

This arguably is enough close range flood for anyone. No need at all for a vn version. I think the lumens race is over. There is such a thing as too much light. From here onwards refinements in cooling would be the go. The turn off once again is the small throw. Its just not enough by a long shot for this kind of output. These lights come off as boring. I know why noone is making these lumen monsters throw far, because the head will be too big.

The VTC6 data sheet says 15A continous and 30A if you reduce output when they reach 80°C.

Max. discharge current vs. time:
30A-40A less than 40 seconds
55A less than 19 seconds
80A less than 6 seconds
(Never discharge above 80°C)

Well i somewhat agree, since this kind of lights are so big they should make them a little bigger but improve the cooling capacity it would only make the lights of this size even better.

thanks jasonww for info.

OK.
So,why the title of this thread remains saying 40000Lm?

When will they start shipping out the Acebeam X70 flashlight?

I’m disappointed the X70 doesn’t have a Firefly mode like the 4 lumens on the X65. Sadly, the lowest mode is now 625 lumens.

The two most utilized modes on our X65 are Firefly and Turbo Max.

yes weird , but a light this size u cant expect firefly mode, even my x9r has lowest 200lumens…

+1000.

The MS12 has sidelights that are probably 20 lumens at their lowest setting and Turbo can run for over 5 minutes indoors!
I’ll probably wait for Imalent to hit 80k.

I have not heard anyone suggest that the handle was made out of plastic. Only the actual fan itself is made of plastic, everything else should be metal.

Btw, here is the air flow directions.

It looks as if the air is simply blown across the exterior surface.

This is just a quick fix to get in front of Imalent.

Surely 2 sliding doors in the head would get heat out more efficiently and not look a c*.

Imalent could decide to put also a fan in a handle, with better results than Acebeam,as the pumped air would blow direct onto the special cooling heatsink which there is in the head.

Oh i thought it was the other way around, that “thing” is gonna blow the hot air out… then it means hot air will blow in your face direction like a hair dryer ? hm…

Yeah, if you wear glasses on a cold night they will steam up lol

It means the hot air will try to blow down towards your feet, but might blow on your thigh.

The handle is for carrying like a suitcase. I don’t know why you think it’s near your face. ???
