That is just sad, why dont they ask lumintop for replacements to send out?

I just received an Email from Neil. He is going to send me a replacement head. I will post an update when I receive and test the new head when it comes.

Anyone else having any type GT Mini switch problems besides the people I mentioned above??

Hello!
Got my GTmini just today.
The button is not highlighted symmetrically, but for me it is not critical.
Green light of the button stop work after some minutes.

I wanted to ask people, did everyone get short bodys?
Because in my kit there was no short body for 18340.
But on the BG page a short body is declared in the kit.

Silent_Star interesting observation didnt see that, i dont think a short tube is included default i thought it was sold as spare extras? sad u got a defective light, it seems more and more of those issues will pop up :frowning: I think a large batch of the first lights will show defective switch, if for one day or in my case almost a month it took for it to go badā€¦

It says on banggood page,

Anyone else having any type GT Mini switch problems besides the people I mentioned above??

I didnā€™t get it in the package. I was sure it was separate and bought separately. Still waiting for it to arriveā€¦.

I finally got time to play with my GT Mini and compare it with my favourite walking light - UTorch UT02.
I used to love UT02 because:

  • the beam has just perfect proportions, hotspot size is right just like spill angle
  • performance is not earth shattering but nevertheless very good

Though I use my current one much less than before since I accidentally ripped off the flimsy USB port cover and had to seek it in gravel with nothing but a thrower.

I was unable to prepare properly for that.
UT02 used a partially charged Lii-50A. It didnā€™t matter, the boost driver deals with it easily.
GT Mini used a high-resistance Lumintop LM34C charged to 4.04V. Certainly less performant than it could be.

Spot size? Very similar, GT Mini has it slightly smaller.
Spill angle? The same.
Throw? GT Mini clearly won here.

Overall it shows that my UT02 really deserves doubling LED current. And maybe swapping an E2 (if I only got itā€¦ā€¦).
And it shows that GT Mini is an amazing performer. Way smaller. Lighter. Better UI.

I knew that GT Mini would be my EDC thrower. With 18350. I imagined putting some throwy Osram LED in it at some point.
But that would make it less good for walking. Iā€™m seriously tempted to get anotherā€¦.

same for my diffuser, purchased as an add on from Neil but it has not shown yet.

My Mini GT just arrived through Banggood. Everything seems normal for now, no issues whatsoever. Iā€™ll keep using heavily for the next couple of days and see if anything happens. Letā€™s hope not.

well my issue started roughly almost a month after i got it, u never know until one day u notice the switch will act up and not beforeā€¦

When I shake one of my GT Miniā€™s (I bought 4 from Neal) something inside is rattling. Not sure what it is (because the bezels seems to be glued) but it is not the lens. Maybe the reflector? What else can it be?

Ended up deciding to pick one of these up from Neal also, out of all the places that sell them I think Neal is gonna be the safest when it comes to dealing with issues. Hopefully mine wonā€™t have any issues

I sure am glad I bought from Neal! The way I view BangGood after all of this is that I will always use my credit card and just chargeback if needed. If they ban me, then oh well.

No idea perhaps if u mail Neal he can tell whats wrong?

Update with my Banggood light:

I emailed them about the switch / switch LED and low current issues.
They responded back focusing only on the switch issues (literally ignoring the low current issue) asking for a video and photos.
I provided both forms of proof and they agreed it was bad and asked if they could send just a switch.
I told them no, that just the switch wouldnā€™t fix the light as both switch and switch LED are bad. I asked that they please send a replacement driver and even at that itā€™d be letting them off easily as I paid for a working flashlight, not a DIY project but that I would accept that as a solution.
They said that was acceptable to them as well and then the holiday started and I didnā€™t hear anything back so I emailed them on the 7th only to be told they have now renigged on their offer of ANYTHING and again requested video showing the low current even though they already agreed the light is broke and now weā€™re at an impasse cause I donā€™t have enough hands to hold the meter on the light, manipulate the switch and video all at once.
