With mine I just half press the button when turned on just enough for led to go off (not click the switch ) around 17 part presses , then it flashes once followed by a rapid flash, this is option 1 (muggle mode on/off) if click off now it will swap the option 1 setting.
If you don’t do anything else you then get 2 flashes followed by rapid which is option 2 (mode memory on/off) click after fast flash to swap state.
The mode group is 4 flashes then fast flashes then half press again not click it will flash once again if you click off now it will change state to a single output of maximum with no lower modes.
I have mine set to turn on at full power every time with 3 extra lower modes.
Lexel, you’re welcome to my spare (once the driver arrives to fix it) if you wish; assuming postage doesn’t exceed the value of the torch, if you send me your address i’ll send it over.
Arrival in the USA! Received my Cometa this afternoon. Everything is looking great. Popped a cell in and everything checks out. I believe I read that the mcpcb moves around? Is it supposed to? Mine does. Any harm in that? Battery was inside the light and charging as I type.
A picture of my Cometa from the GB and my recent order. Dueling Cometas! No difference of course. An unbelievable purchase at this price point, all would agree. Wish I had a reason to have purchased MORE!
The trick is look at the output from front led, there will be no light from it when it is ready to enter configuration mode. Because of moon mode, it might make it harder to detect this correctly, so you can try to do it in a darker room.
1.Switch on the light by clicking all the way in, make sure front led has light
2.Short tap on switch, the front led light will blink and change to whatever levels because of the short tap, keep short tap for 10+ times, front led will stop having any light, when that happen, stop tapping. (I think it’s about 3 seconds to complete 10+ short taps. Don’t do this too fast nor too slow.)
3.Front led will start blink+buzz to indicate it is in configuration mode. Blink 1 time + Buzz means it is in config 1, Blink 2 times + Buzz means iti s in config2, etc.
4.Short tap when it Buzz to enter the specific config.
I think i will have to wait a long time for my light  .
Ordered on 23.09. Got the shipped message on the 27.09. Today i checked because still no tracking update and the new shipping date was the 30.09.
I think they say its shipped so you can not cancel the order anymore. But when the package really is leaving the building is something totally different. Had hopes that the package left china before the hollidays, but it seems it is still there and will be another package thats added to the backlog.
But my early Christmas Gift arrived yesterday (Thanks to DB Custom). I put a XM-L and a 219C for size comparison besides the SBT-70 that is now waiting for the MCPCB and the Cometa.
My two Cometa’s arrived, I checked one and it works. Nice Vappower batteries too. These hosts are going to be fun, never had a Cometa or Jaxman Z1 before
This design does not have an o-ring in the zooming mechanism, and the limited amount of threading makes the head feel a bit loose. Perhaps much stiffer silicon grease would make it feel better.
I do not have the light here. But from checking pictures i would guess that one or two o-rings could help. Not if zoomed out completly but i would think about 90% of travel way would be stabilized.
I have used them for walking around at night, no rattling sound and very easy to turn the zoom head single handed. I think if someone were to use it for jogging or cycling, then the loose head is an issue.
