The prototype tube does look better. Even the production light is sorely tempting me, though. Iâm not usually up for this type of light, but wouldnât mind an easy way to try the Narsil UI.
I got the info from TA that the green LED works as driver LED, like in other NarsilM lights. The red LED is on when charging and off when finished.
It is a last minute change. We will see if all shiped lights got this.
Not that I am aware of. The design will be uploaded open source but not sure it will do any good as I can not find the IC they wanted to use outside of the china. The only way I was able to test it was with the prototype they sent me.
The looks of this thing wasnât enough to override all of the goodness in it and keep me from ordering a couple of these. Theyâve shipped, but Iâm still waiting for them to arrive. Perhaps weâll get lucky and the BG/Mateminco folks will read this forum and in addition to the smaller battery tube, theyâll offer an additional tube (can you say prototype?) that can be ordered later. That way weâd get all that this offers with a much better looking light.
Nah, just change out the head from the S42 to the S43.
That would be a great change already. And ask them to make a solderable tailcap for the spring lol. Itâs impossible to solder to aluminium in a flashlight, and I want to replace the single phosphor bronze spring for a much more capable dual BeCu spring array.
I just looked in NealsGadgets @ M4DM4X and the 18650 tube that is being offered with the Mateminco S03 looks to be the same one that was in the photo of the prototype. Does anybody know if this is the same light, and the tube would work? Or how to contact Mateminco to see if they offer the tube only for sale? Just curious.
Just got my S43 today. Awesome UI. So much better than the S42. The stock photo is a horrible angle; it looks symmetrical and balanced in person. Canât wait for the Special Metal editions. Iâd even like to see a full COPPER of this.
PS wife loves a ramping UI, she took ownership of this one immediately. Back to the S42 for me.
