Battery extraction?

What’s the easiest way to extract a leaker AAA cell stuck inside the flashlight? Superglue something that I can use as a pull handle? Drill?

Thanks!

Drill it about 3/4’s of the way through. A series of holes if the single center one doesn’t cut it. Then take a flat blade screw driver that’s bigger than the hole and start wiggling/prying it around to loosen/separate the battery metal sides from the tube wall. What also helps is an electrical contact spray that has lubricant. CRC 2-26 spray can for about $3 should be in every modder’s tool bag. Available at Home Depot in the Electrical Department. Great stuff. And it doesn’t stink.

I used a self tapping screw. Screwed it right into the top of the battery and used some pliers to pull it out. Worked once. Not sure if it would work in your case.

I’ve done it more than once using drywall screws.

then the cleanup

Yeah, that part sucks if there’s a lot of corrosion.

If the sides are really jammed up/expanded against the tube walls it’s gonna be a bitch without prying around like I said above. If it’s mildly jammed up a screw in the center and pliers might work. The main problem is the metal sides of the batt if they’re essentially corrosion welded to the tube. The center stuff is relatively soft and pliable.

Tie it to a strong string and go to a safe place and spin it as fast as you can, centrifugal force should eject the battery, if your get tired or frustrated just let go of the string and go home and order another one…

Problem solved!

Got it out. Thanks guys!
