Imalent unveils R70C – R90C – MS12

I got my r90c today. Neal did great job on the packaging and inspection… he will personally check the light per your request. So that’s way everything is working… if you have a choice, please order from a Neal. He is above and beyond. He put additional box over the original box to secure the light… Thanks.

Congratulations Newlumen, you have all these latest big toys now. :+1:

And a very very empty wallet on his part

Yea I am broke… lol.

I wish I would never became a flashholics…

You wished or you wish? If you wish, you should do a giveaway of R90C :smiling_imp: , i am sure it will cure your flashaholic behavior. Whenever you feel want to buy another flashlight, you will remember you had given away a brand new R90C. :smiling_imp: Just kidding.

No, just do like me when you sell most of your lights.

Keep this list. This is mine though, yours may differ.

- Big Light (BLF Q8/Haikelite MT01 144AM 4500k R9050)

- Mega Big Light (Haikelite MT09R)

- Super Pocket Thrower (GT Mini)

- Super Thrower(don’t have one, will never buy one, no uses for me in any condition)

- Headlamp (Imalent HR20)

- EDC (Thorfire TK15 with 4000k LH351D)

  • Small light(Sofirn SP10B Blue. I’ll get one one day)

After I got everything on the list, I swore that I would never get any more lights. I would only be allowed to mod them, or modify their drivers.

Helps my hobby funds to stay stocked, help the environment, and leave my shelves alone.

I try to sell lights. No one buy it from me… all my lights are excellent condition. oh well…

I measured the r90c with the Texas ace lumen calibrated tube… I got 16000 lumen… some lights are escaping because the tube is little bit small… I am happy with the imalent specs.

That’s great improvement for Imalent. My DT35 is merely about 4500lm while spec is 8500lm.
16000+lm is very very good, every leds is doing 1800lm.

It is amazing. R90c beat acebeam x65. I shine at the white wall, and the beam look amazing… perfect filled hotspot.

Newlumen, you have all the flagship lights! I buy a lot of lights too but don’t have any expensive flagship lights yet. So I would be surprised if you said you are not broke. lol

If you get 16k lumens on the TA Tube and some light gets spilled, I’m guessing it is probably making close to 20k OTF lumens as specified. Very tempting!

How is the tint? Is there any blue? I am ok with cw like the 6500k oslon in the Delta but don’t want any blue. Does this seem cooler or warmer than the Delta?

Delta Olson 6500k

R90c 4th mode. 2500 lumen

I can’t capture good photo with my iPhone… r90c is definitely cool white tint, just like any other such as blf gt mini cw.

My used lights actually make me a profit on ebay as people in the UK don’t really want to order from China. I’m agonising selling my TN40vn for a R90C. I’m just at odds with flashlights currently having to be bigger to get more output or throw. I don’t really have space for a MF04, MS12 and R90C, I used to be able to carry the flood and throw kings in 1 carry case!!!

I’m a big fan of Imalent, if they had Acebeam build quality they’d be the best brand by a billion miles but their flashlights would be double the price. Arguably Imalent innovate and push performance more than anyone.
Apart from the DT35 their lumen ratings are pretty decent, the DT70 was rated at 16,000 and only returned 13,000 but the XHP70’s in that were shave domed so it would have made 16,000 without shaving.
The DT70 with better build quality would have been a classic, USB charging, glorious tint, mind boggling offer prices, informative OLED screen, compact design with record breaking power and unrivalled throw for a dedicated flooder, but the springs were gash and many came with faults.

I’ve bought 5 Imalent lights and so far so good.

7 Nitecore 1 broke
7 Hank Wang lights with 1 developing faults
5 Olights with 2 developing faults.
5 Acebeam with 1 developing a fault.
5 Astrolux no issues
3 BLF no issues
3 Lumintop with 1 developing a fault.
3 Convoy with 2 developing faults.
3 Fireflies with 1 faulty on arrival
3 Blitzwolf no issues
2 Thrunite no issues
2 Manker with 1 breaking due to bad design
2 Skylumen 1 faulty
2 DQG no issues
2 CPF Italia no issues
1 Rofis no issues
1 Zanflare occasional flickering
1 Wowtac no issues
1 Klarus no issues
1 MecArmy faulty on arrival
1 Odepro no issues
1 Xiaomi no issues

Flashaholics, are you planning to do a review of the R90C? I like your 4k camera lol

i have seem alot of good ms12 beside mine… i think imalent team is doing a great job. R90c is neat, compact, and centering rings look great…

Newer imalent lights have upgraded switch, and 20700 as flashaholics mentioned.

I like the way imalent is making lights… less model, and high output.

I’m on the fence at the moment. It’s strange there’s not many reviews of it yet.
I’ve asked Gearbest if I can review it for them but they’ve decided to send me a DX80 even though I’ve already reviewed one for them.

I really want Imalent to make a button you can find in the dark, the DX80 was a nightmare to turn on but at least you could see the illuminated button to turn it off. The MS12 is a nightmare.

The Imalent UI is great for reviews though, this new Anduril v10.8 with it’s ceiling and 2000 points of customisation is a nightmare to present. I definitely prefer the original D4 UI.

Version 10.8? I only know of an old version and a newer one.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard it’s mainly like the D4 UI. Do you notice big differences?

It was a pain to have to remove the ceiling feature (ceiling really did make reviewing hard) and temp calibration seemed trickier to do than on the Narsil v1.2?
Don’t get me wrong it’s great if you’re up for customising the UI but it’s difficult and boring to cover it all in a vid review.
I didn’t need the manual to change anything on the D4, the D4S maybe could benefit from being stripped back.

Obviously I’d love AUX lights but I’d prefer the D4 UI with maybe just 9 taps to enter a muggle mode if a limit is needed. 9 taps, light buzzes whilst you tap for max power percentage, 1 tap being 10% so the D4/D4S becomes a 40 lumen light for kids. 9 taps and let it buzz through to reset to default.

Just had a thought, since the R90C is too big for the TA lumen tube, maybe you can compare it by ceiling bounce with a light with similar beam like a MT09R XHP35 that fits the TA lumen tube
