Yeah thanks for reminding again. Everything is ready! Bought 5 rolls of packing tape just for the occasion.
Still haven’t received my shipping envelopes from slow boat China though. Hopefully, they’ll come soon.
Both you and ASAF are getting special packages for your convenience of not getting springs from my sorry butt
They’ll be coming in small boxes so there is 0 risk of a package loss, and other surprises :sunglasses:
And for the other guys and gals, I’ll be using a plastic paper envelope so there will be 0 chance of tearing.
Well…… No “special package” & no “box” , but the springs that were shipped got here!! :+1: …
51 Big springs in a zip lock bag & 58 Small springs in another zip lock bag.
Both Zip lock bags sealed in a pre addressed letter/legal size envelope
Sealed envelope was then covered with a copious amount of 2 inch clear packing tape. And I mean completely covered!!! . . :+1: :+1:
EXCELLENT PACKING JOB ’BLUE’!!
This was packed right………… & it got here too .
Looking forward to the rest of my Big Springs from the next batch, whenever that happens.
Thanks Blue ……

This dual setup looks quite potent. I really hope they will become available with affordable international shipping soon!

Oh GOD thank you.
And wut? I did put return addresses on the letters… I’ll check.
Edit: Ohhhh frick. I used the wrong envelopes on the first+second shipping batches. The first envelopes ran out, so I now use the tougher envelopes with the address preprinted on them. I’d like to take pics, but my phone is down temporarily.
Damn it. I wonder why I never do these kind of mistakes in other hobbies. It’s really strange.

Perhaps. It’s better to do these kinds of mistakes once, and never do them again.
BTW, I did a build recently with a dual spring array on a Q8, and the results were very nice
My lumen numbers on the Q8 with the normal lens were 5230 lumens.
My numbers on the Q8 with the Kaidomain AR lens were 5649 lumens at 30 seconds, with brass screws.
My numbers on the Q8 with the replaced springs and AR lens are now at 6764 lumens at 30 seconds, with brass screws.
These tests were all done with 4x Samsung 30Qs at 4,19V.

Next, bypass the PCB traces, to gain even more (I don’t know how much, but Dale always does).

Got my springs today. I think there was more tape than envelope.

I still have not got the pm with payment details, in meantime some of you got your springs. Should I be worried?

My springs showed up as well and look great. I hope to put together an MT09R with them this week if I can find the time. I just started some new work, so not sure when that time will be available.

My springs came today. Thanks!
The taped envelope was intact. The springs look good. I haven’t had a chance to do anything with them, yet.
For my most practical and frequently used lights, I plan to replace many of my spring bypasses with these springs, either singly, or nested. For my highest output hotrods, I’ll probably continue using spring bypasses.

Out of curiosity….what would be resistance decrease with a third, larger spring?

It would be cut again in half.
The resistance I calculated conservatively of the big spring is 10mOhm.
A dual spring array would be capable of 5mOhm, and a triple spring array would decrease even further down to about 2,5mOhm.
However, the problem would be compatibility and stiffness of the triple array, and for me?
Lots of math again
