Imalent unveils R70C – R90C – MS12

i have seem alot of good ms12 beside mine… i think imalent team is doing a great job. R90c is neat, compact, and centering rings look great…

Newer imalent lights have upgraded switch, and 20700 as flashaholics mentioned.

I like the way imalent is making lights… less model, and high output.

I’m on the fence at the moment. It’s strange there’s not many reviews of it yet.
I’ve asked Gearbest if I can review it for them but they’ve decided to send me a DX80 even though I’ve already reviewed one for them.

I really want Imalent to make a button you can find in the dark, the DX80 was a nightmare to turn on but at least you could see the illuminated button to turn it off. The MS12 is a nightmare.

The Imalent UI is great for reviews though, this new Anduril v10.8 with it’s ceiling and 2000 points of customisation is a nightmare to present. I definitely prefer the original D4 UI.

Version 10.8? I only know of an old version and a newer one.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard it’s mainly like the D4 UI. Do you notice big differences?

It was a pain to have to remove the ceiling feature (ceiling really did make reviewing hard) and temp calibration seemed trickier to do than on the Narsil v1.2?
Don’t get me wrong it’s great if you’re up for customising the UI but it’s difficult and boring to cover it all in a vid review.
I didn’t need the manual to change anything on the D4, the D4S maybe could benefit from being stripped back.

Obviously I’d love AUX lights but I’d prefer the D4 UI with maybe just 9 taps to enter a muggle mode if a limit is needed. 9 taps, light buzzes whilst you tap for max power percentage, 1 tap being 10% so the D4/D4S becomes a 40 lumen light for kids. 9 taps and let it buzz through to reset to default.

Just had a thought, since the R90C is too big for the TA lumen tube, maybe you can compare it by ceiling bounce with a light with similar beam like a MT09R XHP35 that fits the TA lumen tube

I think i did… estimate lumen for the ms12 is 45000 lumen… flashaholic and martin got 50000 and 52000 lumen…

I will do one for the r90c tonight. Reference to xhp 35 lights that fits in the TA tube.

the price for the MS12 is too high but i would buy at $50

I got 45,000 when I ceiling bounced the MS12 against a DX80 but like I say the MS12 has wider spill, which is light further away from the meter.

lol for 50 u can buy it the convoy l6, not even the dx80 went lower then 200 i think

$50 wouldn’t even buy you 8 x 20700 batteries. Lol

Haikelite mt09r triple xhp 35… 5400 lumen with TA tube

Garage ceiling bounce
Mt09r 33 lux
R90c 97 lux = 15872 lumen

Bathroom ceiling bounce
Mt09r 305 lux
R90c 1050 lux = 18590 lumen

So i got 15872 and 18590 lumen for the r90c ceiling bounce…

That’s very interesting the results can vary so much. If TA lumen tube measured 16k lumens for the R90C while not being able to capture a portion of the light, I would take the bathroom ceiling bounce results as more accurate. Maybe because the R90C is floodier than the MT09R, it reads higher in the bathroom where some of the light gets bounced off the wall back to the lux sensor.

Yea… this light use 4 x 20700… imalent engineer push this light to the max… i think 18000 –19000 is possible.

Remember imalent doesnt make alot of lights… i think they got alot of time focusing to make this right…

You’ll be looking at a 5-digit hobby man…… Congratulations!

I got a broken ms12 on the date of arrival. I still havent got an email response from banggood after 9 business days. i sent email again and also forwarded the email to imalent…

please PM me the order number

maybe I can give them a push..

Hello my dear friend!
A rainy sunday and some questions i saw on the internet made me take this video. Hope you like it and it helps to decide if and which one to buy...

You know i will watch in a bit.

I just received my R90C. The head is actually about the size of my 4” TA tube. Maybe some of the light is hitting the lip of the pipe bell but I’m still a bit disappointed that it only measures 13,370 lumens at 1s.
