Thanks, but I am looking for tests across a wide range of cells. Or just “the best ones”. Not using AA cells in an adapter; primarily because I have had no real success with the adapters. I have a bunch of Eneloops, but I have not seen C cells from them that are not an AA stuck in a fake battery case. And I would really rather recharge 4 batteries instead of 12. I am also in the US (the PNW means I am at the upper left corner).
I am seeing Tenergy rated at 5000 mAH. But a failed 4000 mAH battery from them is why I am looking for replacements. So I am a bit leery of Tenergy. And I want a matched set. And if 5000 is real, I would like to go there.
Check AccuPower’s AccuLoop C Cell. I’m currently using them in 2 Maglite ML50LX 3C cell for work and you can tell the brightness difference switching from alkaleaks to the LSD NiMH.
Thanks everyone. I went through the AA and D tests from HKJ and torchy. I recorded the results from both where they each had batteries but not necessarily the same ones. Then I looked at D and AA results for consistency of power available.
PowerX looked good, but I only found AA specs.
I finally settled on Soshine. A bit obscure it seems. They came out near the top of tests for D and AA. 9300 mAH and 2600 mAH. The manufacturer states they are LSD.
The guy I bought it from on Aliexpress scammed me. Said he sent out batteries next day. Sent tracking - it was for Turkey. A day or so later that was gone and I got a USPS tracking number. USPS said it was opened but they had not received anything. After the delay until I could file a dispute he tried to get me to pay him about 2/3 rds of the total price to send me a new shipment.
I got a couple of emails from him after that. Each had an attachment. I looked at them and concluded they were hostile code.
Trying to use Aliexpress’s dispute process is absolutely hideous. I don’t believe anyone could have created that pile of * by accident. Bet they don’t pay out very often.
So I just decided to buy some of the batteries from a US vendor. It appears Soshine has stopped making NiMh C cells.
