- what exotic fish I caught in the ocean of music -

Can you share a video of your group from that time?
Some flashlight around you will be a bonus…

No videos, unfortunately. You have to remember, there were no cell phones at the time. There are reel to reel audio tapes out there somewhere. I’ll see if I can locate one or two.

Of course I remember. Just B&W photo.

UFO - Lipstick Traces

I found this picture. It’s not very good.

And this one

Wings, Back To The Egg: Arrow Through Me [1979]

Ooooh, you wanna talk drummers? Jukka Nevalainen. Way way up on my top… 1?

Planet Hell

Bless The Child

Ghost Love Score

Watch the entire “End Of An Era” concert in one shot, and you’ll be emotionally drained and broken down by the end. It’s that intense.

On the outside you haven’t followed Michael Schenker after UFO (eg, Scorpions, MSG), check out, well, the entire “Adventures of The Imagination” album.

No pesky lyrics or vocals or anything to get in the way.

I could listen to that album all day. Probably have, too.

Thanks again for some more good tunes Guys,

I haven’t heard of Nightwish before … that is some crazy stuff, like Andrew Lloyd Webber on ice…and I don’t mean the skating rink type!
Still, good to discover.

atbglenn - Never say a photo’s not very good - a slightly grainy black and white memory like that is priceless.
I just wish I had more photos of my youth, but not many of us even had a camera in those days.

Speaking of ALW…

I never saw this until yesterday night

Thanks for sharing!
The quality of photos is quite good.

You look in very good condition also. :+1:
I guess this is a school party. It’s not a Marshall at back, but I’m sure you remember all the instruments in details.

We also had such a group(s) in the school. Then we listened mostly Deep Purple, Rainbow, Uriah Heep, Grand Funk, Black Sabbath, Sweet, Slade, Styx, Boston, Chicago, Journey, Cream, The Guess Who, Manfred Mann, ELP, Bad Co, Creedence, The Who, Eagles, Toto, ZZ Top and many more… Surely I miss a lot.
That was before the army.
Long live cassette-tape!!! :star:

Manfred Mann’s Earth Band - Father Of Day, Father Of Night (Live In Stockholm 1973)

I was, and still am into most of the bands you mention. I miss those days too.
Yes, it was a school dance/teen club kind of thing we played at back in the early to mid 70’s. As far as instruments we played. I remember what I played, and basically what the other guys played. I was playing a Rickenbacker 4001 through an Acoustic 360 Bass amp (not shown. Same amp Jaco Pastorius used) The guitar players had a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul. They both played through Acoustc heads into unknown cabs. The drummer had a Ludwig kit. He’s the only one I keep in contact these days. His son is an amazing drummer. We both haven’t played in bands in many years. I still pick up the bass everyday just to keep my fingers going.

Edit: I found an incomplete demo tape with drums, bass, and some guitar on it. I’m playing a frettless Music Man bass on it. It’s a bit boring, but I like the bass part I played. We did this around 1978.
Send me a private message with your email and I’ll send it to you.

Good memory!
Although, as I’ve heard, if one remembers the distant past better than yesterday, he uh … he is was very very slightly above middle age. (must be a joke)
This rule is valid for me. Absolutely…

I’m surprised how up-to-date can be a song after nearly 50 years.

Deep Purple - April (1969, with Rod Evans and Nick Simper)

The album cover art is illustration from Hieronymus Bosch. I checked this just because I saw something familiar but forgotten for the moment.

Excellent! Great tune. RIP Jon Lord. You were a master of the keyboards.

Speaking of memory, I remember just about everything when I was young. Being 66 years old, my current memory isn’t that good anymore. So please, if I repeat myself in a thread, forgive me. I’m sure you older folks understand where I’m coming from.

Deep Purple: Child In Time Live 1970. I love this version!

Nice version of CIT :sunglasses:
I had quite a few UFO and MSG albums, but i have not gotten them restocked on CD after i was so foolish to sell all my albums ( one of the more stupid things i ever did )

Jammin at the youth club we played a mean CIT when we got one guy to jam along on the keyboard.
Also did a pretty mean instrumental version of Van Halen “Jump” though in my book that was too new Van Halen, still rocked it on the drums.

Last week i felt a sudden urge to listen to “Carlos”, Santana of course.
And for some strange reason i felt like pairing that with The Police first album from 77

BTW i assume you guys are familiar with Water too, if not you should be.

Always a good concert experience.

I was not familiar, but now I’m going to be.
Very surprised with such sound in 90s!

Since you guys are on old Deep Purple, you do know what Rod Evans did after he left DP…

I was listening to this in the car today and thought I would just remind you guys of this great band…
