The main reasons I bought this flash in multiple quantities is for the AR glass lens, the short 26650 tube, the twist zoom, the pocket rocketability and of course the great BLF price.
But must of all I bought it to piss off TOM TOM.
I really do not know what BG is playing. They still sell the light China warehouse but my order switched to backorder yesterday.
Also i had to contact the support for some questions in the last two month (pre sales product information). The answeres i got were not the answeres to my question. Not even close! If i had asked my postdelivery guy the questions i would have gotten a answere that is more usefull! It was always bad but not this bad!
Mine also back order even though it is still in stock status now. I asked CS and was told it is in processing. No proper direct answer, are those CS actually AI robots?
We have regular cargo flights between UK and China. So stuff can be shifted around very quickly, if necessary.
Oh, still showing 143 in stock in UK. at £20.82.
Maybe 143 is just a code, like anything priced at PC-World in the UK, with 0.75 on the end indicates a close-out.
Or £11.53 from CN (not BOed)
For sh*ts and giggles I just ordered one from CN, let’s see where this goes. It would not surprise me if it turned up in 2-3 days, from UK, which has happened before.
Yes, I know, and feel dirty, but how bad can it be (it was pretty bad the first time around), but for under £12 …
Air miles, like food-miles, still don’t seem to matter, funny old world. I suppose that if you have a regular contract, negotiated based on shifting pallets of stuff in the future, one way or the other, then it doesn’t really matter what is being transported, or the reasons for doing so.
I don’t seriously expect this ever to arrive (was shown as being in stock when I ordered, but just now tracking my order it is BOed).
If so, PayPal will sort out the mess.
Meanwhile I regard it as entertainment, in a perverted masochistic way. I don’t even want this, never-mind need it. And I certainly don’t respect the way it happened.
Actually, I let it run for room lighting in the morning (~20 min) and then shut it off to leave. It was warm, nothing like a D4, and I removed the battery so it wouldn't suffer the heat for as long. When I got home and put the battery back in, I noticed the insulator was out of position.
The light has a lot of material but I'm still studying its' thermal distribution.
The worth of this light... like any light is the basic value of its parts .
The lens being the hardest part to find and never found cheaply 10-12$
the driver and lighted tailcap are another7-8$
Emitter 5$ Pill, body ,ano, assembly & shipping . This light was a sought after exciting custom light at the time for 40-45$
at 15$ it’s worth more than that just for the parts .
Enough has been said about this light and it’s issues that if anyone buys this light and blows themselves up because of it they deserve it and the worlds a better place without them .
