Led4power.com : LD-4 CC linear drivers, ILC-0/1 illuminated tailcaps, optics, MOSX, copper DTP MCPCBs...

Added new OSRAM LEDs which replace BLACK FLAT - 1mm2, similar or slightly higher lumens, but with much lower Vf and electrically neutral thermal pad (normal DTP pcbs can be used). Also emitting area is pure square, without annoying wire shadows etc.

Preliminary tests show peak output of ~980lm@5.75A, 960lm@5A, I recommend 5Amps in flashlights because cooling is not as good as with bench tests.

i’m guessing it’s cool white but any idea what the color temp is, roughly?

As much as I want to own the current champ thrower LED, and put it in a light, I have to admit to myself that I have bought already enough LEDs, drivers, reflectors, and other components, and never did anything with them. They say the first step is admitting you have a problem. I’m admitting that I too often fool myself into thinking that “this time” I’ll actually do something with the amazing new technology that has suddenly come available, so I should buy it before somebody else does. :money_mouth_face:

Well, I’m not gonna do it. I’m going to leave these amazing LEDs for the true modders, who will make use of it. I will be amazed at their creation and wish I had it myself. But it won’t do me any good, because I’m too lazy to build it. :weary:

Thanks for bringing these to us. Looking forward to put into the EE X6 and Convoy S6 with SMO hosts.

I know how you feel. I really want to do a full Led4power build (MOSX MCPCB, LD-4 driver, illuminated tail cap) because the components all look awesome, but I’ve got a pile of components I still haven’t used yet.

Still, the OSRAM KW CSLNM1.TG (catchy name) does seem like the perfect answer to the question of what to do with the two Cometas I bought recently…

I did buy some of the new leds despite the pile of components that I still haven’t used yet :person_facepalming:
(I admit that I have a problem, that is the first step, right? :innocent: )

Are any new products going to be added any time soon? I’m not sure if shipping charges are going to change any time soon…

Shipping fees should remain the same as they are now.

L4p what color do these new Osram leds have?
And when the spacers for c8 i x6 will be available?

Man the new Osram looks sweet. Too bad I already made an order from you last week. I will order some for the Cometas I got when you have the C8 spacers for the 6x emitters. Are you going to make a kit for the Sofirn C8F 21700? That seems to be the ideal light for this new mcpcb.

I sent some measurements to kiriba-ru for the C8F 21700 but you should express your interest to him as well. The C8F is e-switch and I suspect his e-switch driver may still be a ways off. Meaning, no “complete” kit for some time.

No complete kit is fine. With Sofirn’s revised driver (the first one had problems) it is still a very good driver and with 6x emitters, it will run alot more efficient if not a whole lot brighter.

The chromacity bin is: ebxD46. Looking at the Osram datasheet and plugging the coordinates into this website,

the CCT is between: 5849k to 6384k
Less cool than the Black Flat
Plugging the coordinates here:

the DUV is between: –0.0044 and –0.0043, which will at least ensure the beam will not be green, maybe it will be a bit on the rosy side. I like the pure white of the black flat. Hopefully this is about the same.

The flux bin is 6N
at 1A: min 315 lm and max 355 lm

Compared to the Black Flat sold on Mouser, which is 8M flux bin:
at 1A: min 250 lm and max 280 lm

Me too… :weary:
Still, boxes with plenty of parts are better than fewer parts. :innocent:

Maybe call them “White Flat” ?
Yeah, i just ordered 3 pcs…
They will find homes pretty soon though.

I will put spacers this weekend, I'm busy more than usual, so there is delay for some stuff.

Is there any chance to have distance ring for standard reflectors and this new osram?

I don't think there is one, probably simplest solution is to rotate 3535/XP centering ring.

Just ordered 3 of them

Apart from the LD4A, are there any alternative 2S (buck) drivers for tail clickies that would be appropriate for the new Osram-LED? So far, this one here looks okay but it cannot deliver the required 5 amps of current.

The best would be a buck driver (2.9V - 8.4V), e.g. in a Convoy L2 (short and long tube) running at full power over the entire voltage curve.

MTN buck driver. But it’s out of stock…
