Looks great. Best price I see is the preorder for 39.95.
The problem is theyâre not including the 18650 tube. I picked up the black anodized on preorder and it came with both tubes.
The 18650 tube is sold separately but listed as âcoming soonâ for 3.50.
I donât mind buying it for $3.50 but they should just include it in the preorder and charge $3.50 more. Itâs a brand new torch, people will need the tubes. Also I donât want to pay $12.00 to ship a $3.50 1oz tube once itâs in stock
Iâm going to wait.
If they made S43S SKU with only 18650 tube (not incl 18350 tube) I would buy it.
I donât want to buy the 18350 version, then $3.50 for a tube, then I have to throw away 18350 tube. (I donât have any 18350 cells)
So definitely no more of their god awful UI?
My recently arrived S43 has NarsilM v1.3 :+1:
Itâs still there on the S41 and S42. If you want the improved version, get the S43. :+1:
Yes, that horrible S42 UI is gone form the S43. It is now using NarsilM with a TA driver and a custom charging circuit.
I have been rather liking the S03 / S43. A good all around light. for the size.
Has anyone checked the output on the Nichia version yet? I donât think mine is producing 2100 lumens on turbo.
The Nichia version should be closer to 1600 lumen.
I just noticed that they did not print this in the specs like they did with the S42. Itâs the same emitters and FET so output is the same. 2100 lumen for the xpg3 version and 1600 lumen for the Nichia 219C version.
Ah ha thank you.
It looks like M4D M4X is doing a group buy for the S43S for $27, but one of the tubes is extra.
It also appears Astrolux has hotrodded both the aluminum version and this copper version by doing away with the front spring and using double springs on the tail cap. It was drawing 15A on a 4v 30Q! Thatâs mighty impressive.

Youâd have to do bypasses on both springs in the regular S43 to get those amps.
I asked them to make this change but it was too late for the normal S43 as I understood it. Glad to hear it made it into these versions.
Iâm not sure what battery tube it comes with. Banggood says the 18650 tube is optional which seems odd.
The S43S comes with an 18350 only. Their history with their prior Special editions is to offer the 18650 tube separately. I had to buy all my 18650 S41S tubes separately. Thatâs fine but the S43 tube isnât listed to be sold separately. Itâs listed as âcoming soonâ, plus youâd have to pay shipping. So this time they really should have included an 18650 tube.
That being said, I jumped on the preorder, itâs a great discount. And 15Amp holy crap I canât wait to see that.
i try to convince them to make a 18650 tube pack
@TA
Kudos! i really like the UI
That would be great. Can you do anything to get it added into the preorders weâve already placed?
i doubt that
Does anybody know if there are any reviews of the regular S43 available anywhere yet? Cheers.

Yes, here:
This is a review of the Astrolux S43 flashlight. It is a high-powered light that takes a single 18650 or 18350 battery. Four LED emitters, either XP-G3 (cool white) or Nichia 219C (high CRI neutral white), produce up to 2600 lumens in turbo mode. This review covers the Nichia 219C version.
