Acebeam K75

Can’t wait to put a boost hx in it .

Blf gt is a risky project, it envolves lots of effort, money, time, but the demands is Unknow

I think if BLF community didn’t help in designing GT, lumintop won’t make it.

I have a feeling Acebeam is rating their lights based on emitter lumens and not OTF lumens. Don’t think it is possible to make 2,600 OTF lumens with XHP35 HI

BLF was who came up with the idea and asked manufacturers to build it  Lumintop or all the others did not even think about building something like this, these giant thrower flashlights wouldn’t even exist had it not been for BLF.

They understood that there are many interested for bigger lights.

Yup, and that people are willing to pay for them.

If I have one, I’ll break it’s lens within a week.

I want one with 70.2 in it.

Next level: Imalent with 300mm reflector :person_facepalming:

I think that most of us want something light that so as to be fully satisfied. https://www.google.com/search?q=antiaircraft++lights&client=firefox-b&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi9xIvD3ZTeAhWmtIsKHS76AVUQsAR6BAgEEAE&biw=981&bih=683

I wonder about the specs.
BLF has 120mm reflector and does 1.2Mcd so the Acebeam with 150mm reflector. should be able to do a lot better……more like 2.1Mcd

I wonder about the ratio of people who buy it becuse they really need it versus people who buy it to satisfy their inner child

1:1000?

That ratio is 0.

‘Need’ is a tricky word. Need to show off, need to giggle! Both good reasons in my book.

I’m guessing the 150 mm should be doing better than 1,200,000?

I’d say “Inner Child” wins by a sweeping landslide majority. :+1:

I think very, very, very few people actually ‘need’ this light…. much less have a legitimate use for it .:smiley:

I certainly don’t need one but…….I probably will buy one

To modd it to reach over 2,5Mcd, of course.

Cheers,
Nico

I dont like this, it should be the actual lumens and nothing else, iknow astrolux can make on theirs mf02 3000 lumens claims but neither comes close to that. but still nice to see a 150mm head… whats next 200 ?

Being at home I took my excel calculation sheet and came up with these - not overly optimistic - numbers:

Optimal 150mm reflector, 95% effective
Led 100% centered and focussed
Lens 96% transmission

XHP35 HI producing 140 cd per square mm = 1,86 Mcd
XP-L HI V3 producing 165 cd per square mm = 2,34 Mcd
Oslon Black Flat producing 245 cd per square mm = 3,47 Mcd

All in theory of course, but my conclusion is that the K75 should do a hell of a lot better with an XHP35 HI getting
decent power.
1,2 Mcd makes no sense with a reflector that big.

Cheers,
Nico
