FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

Yep, see what can happen? Let’s just hope we’re not at 6000 without lights in our hands.

Significantly, not TK. :frowning:

That didn’t take long.

I, um, have a good memory. So let’s see what disappeared…

… it looks like the deleted post was probably #4384 by Henk4U2:

Fritz is the FW3A Team right? And he was supposedly getting the 3rd prototype mailed to him?

Come on gentlemen, zcbtjwj was just trying to help a fellow member.
Unfortunately he was unable to repeat the exact prices he had read earlier (somewhere) in this thread.
Look at the ‘give or take $5’ part.

So it may be a D for accuracy, but I’ll give it a B for effort.

Well, apparently nobody cared to remember what Sally was having ….

If Fritz started all of this then there is a perfect reason for being MIA; he got what he wanted :person_facepalming:

Fully functional, “elegant triple” which he got for free. It’s quite brilliant actually

I’m only partially kidding…

Yes, Fritz got one of the two… third prototypes.

Think positive mates, we will not get prototypes  8)

As I recall, she was having a very good time at Harry’s expense.

As I recall, Fritz made the first one himself then put his brilliance to the test for Lumintop to mass produce. He can easily make all he wants, he did all this so we’d have a shot at a Custom for a Budget price.

I have been and will continue to be excited for the day I can hold this light in my hands. I’m pumped! However long it takes, this is my next light. I don’t need any more lights other than this one. After this light, I’ll be done buying lights. I’m getting old and have more than enough lights to last me the rest of my life except I do need the FW3A before I pass on. I could go at any time(may have died as you’re reading this), so hopefully this light will arrive for purchase soon and I’ll have all the illumination I need to find the Pearly Gates. You can’t be too careful, you know. Remember the trouble that old hillbilly had finding the gates of heaven in that Twilight Zone episode? Good thing he had the hound dog with him.

In for another 1, total of 2.

In other words, just gotta get it to production in time to satisfy an old man’s dying wish. No pressure.

I hope production will happen quickly, and will turn out well. I’ve been carrying a prototype around for 10 months now, and I still haven’t gotten sick of it. It’s weird for a light to be my primary for this long, but it’s the closest I’ve ever seen to how I would design a light myself. It may be a long time before I find anything better.

Yeah, that’s pretty much where it’s at. I mean, I could hold on for a couple more months, in an ideal scenario even a few more years although of course we can’t count on that. I think it’s best that we consider my death imminent and proceed with production as soon as possible.

My patience with the FW3A is bolstered by having a D4 and D4S with Anduril on them.
Anduril was the most exciting part of this light to me and the long wait time allowed me to figure out how to flash a driver!
If this thing had been done a year ago I would've skipped the (slightly) painful process of learning my rudimentary flashing skills.
The responsiveness of the D4 and D4S momentary switch makes for easy control and accurate clicks when changing settings. I hope the FW3A compares favorably.
Do not read past this if you are easily triggered.

I've had dozens of Liteflux lights in the past and I know that this mechanically complicated signal path can be problematic. They didn't stay in business long.
Even in the best-case scenario there will be issues. If this was an S2+ clone it would be done, sold, and discontinued by now. Extra complexity requires time.
But I know, blah blah blah, "I'm in productions and ....", "If this were MY company we would've...." "Any REAL company would've....!"
Everyone is an expert and knows the whole story of this light. Amazing what people expect from a ~$30 BUDGET light.

Well said bansuri, all of it; but especially the “triggered” part.

I love that!!! .

:+1:

Yeah, we need to get a pass-around going of the existing lights. :innocent:
