No, the software does not allow it. You would have to switch to Anduril.
There is no real reason for a calibration. You don’t set the thermal stepdown to a number, you set it by how hot it feels, or by a time limit.
The only reason ToyKeeper built a calibration tool in Anduril was to make it easier at the factory to get consistent thermal stepdown temperatures.
Now that Tom E does not visit here much, there will be no big upgrades to NarsilM. Luckily ToyKeeper is still around and she is able to make upgrades to her D4 (RampingIOS) and Anduril, etc… User Interfaces.
I think it’s just a lucky coincidence your big GT reads so close to accurate. They can sometimes read plus or minus 15°C.
The temperature sensor is inside the Atiny85 mcu.
I have 3 lights using Narsil and I think I’m lucky as they only vary about 5°C between them. It is the luck of the draw if it happens to read close to accurate.
I don't know how to really describe it. One half of the spot's rim (zone between spot and spill) is a bit eclipsed and the other half looks as if the brightness "bleeds out" into the spill. I need to fiddle about the right camera settings to make this visible on photo.
I opened up a friends GT mini for him and removed the driver, flashed Anduril. Now, I know good and well that my own did not react well to Anduril being flashed and I even lost the light at the switch. But wouldn’t you know it, this one flashed perfectly! The green light came on when I clipped on the Pamona clip, went off when the flash was in progress, came back on when it was done. The light works perfectly. Have no idea what would be different but of course my own was much more problematic, even much more difficult to remove the bezel… this one the bezel came off pretty easily.
Did you get any response from Neal yet? Meanwhile I sent him another PM but I got no response either. Somehow I begin to feel quite irritated. Anyway, I appreciate your efforts to help me.
I am sad to report that I too have problems with my BLF GT Mini switch. Many times it does not respond to my click and acts strangely. I did notice i can sometimeseliminate the problem if i carefully put the pressure on the right edge of the button. But still, unreliable.
Light has been bought form Neil, i am going to contact him in a few moments…
