FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

I'm a fan of horror films and like Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees.

Those images have been in my signature since June of 2016.

The images are in black and white, and are not bloody or gory.

I think they are fairly tame and are not breaking any BLF rules.

 :+1:

Im loving the trash pandas…… Woah thats some interesting rollover formatting in your sig haha.

The more I look at the prototypes the more refined and beautiful this light looks…

Anyone want to auction off their FW3A prototype?

The only problem I have with RC’s sig line is the knives. Don’t care about the horror stuff, have seen Jason die too many times… I guess I got old and moved on.

It’s hard for me to look away from the few in there that call my name. :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve even gone so far as to look up those that haunt me, but, alas, my taste in knife materials has moved beyond Kershaw… pity too! (3,4,14,19 and next to the last… from the left, still whisper sweet nothings…)

Yeah, when rules are all that matter, you’re probably right…
The black and white add to the sinisterness (according to my spelling check that’s a word) / horror of knife murderers or other mass murderers. The masks add to it some more.
The stories are based on similar real events, or in other words, some utterly sick people have actually done such things in reality.
Really sick sh… uhm… crap.

Yes, I don’t have 10 minutes to waste reading off topic discussions about horror movies and porn. That 10 minutes would be better spent watching horror movies or porn.

I wasn’t refering to off topic stuff.

I can’t understand Chinookers comment as an example.

What does he need more of?
Why is he calling it a “fuzzy logic project”? Does he not know the definition? Is he saying he’s dropping out of this group buy? Is he telling ToyKeeper she needs to “get it right”? What does that even mean?

Those 2 sentences just make no sense to me. Maybe there is some type of miscommunication? Maybe I’m just not getting it?

I didn’t want to get things further off topic, but it felt like I’m loosing my mind. It’s probably just me.

More like this cat:

Oh, that would be fun!! Nice, Nick!
First bid anyone?

I’d like to bid three fiddy.

I removed myself from the list some time ago. I revisit the topic to see iffn progress has progressed.

This is fuzzy to me and not logical……

“On FW3A proto1, I had issues with the battery losing contact when I placed the light on a hard surface, because it had a weak spring at the back and a post at the front. There were also issues with the driver. Those were both fixed in proto2, along with some other improvements. After putting a layer of Kapton tape around the front of the inner tube, it has been functioning pretty much perfectly ever since. It makes a really nice EDC. And in theory, proto3 should remove the need for Kapton tape.

I’m not 100% sure what changed between proto2 and proto3 though, because Cawi’s description of proto3 sounded exactly like proto2. I think there was some sort of initial issue, but I’m fuzzy on the details, and it sounds like it has been working fine ever since.”

Not pointed at TK, she’s the most focused thing about this project, everything else seems blurred with platitudes.
“special elegant triple powerful”

Do I need to explain myself further JWW?

Should be done by xmas next year, but at this rate…count on xmas 2020

Next xmas would work also. I am practicing patients. I want one bad, but I want a reliable working light.

I hope they take there time and get it right………

I’m no longer holding out any hope for this Christmas. It was just going to be a present to myself anyway, not really important. I never thought it would stretch out this long though.

Well they’ve been working on it since May last year, so 18 months later plus however many more months ahead, it’d want to damn near perfection

I’m staying on the list,no reason not to, but I must admit it wouldn’t shock me if this one just didn’t happen, or if it takes quite a while yet. The good thing is, there are definitely viable alternatives now that weren’t always available. It may be time to think about those. I haven’t as of yet, looking forward to this one.

Some mysteries are best left unsolved.

“pennzy wrote: Is it the tail switch that differentiates this from lets say a D4 ?
Tail switch, more ergonomic body design, nicer clip, regulated up to ~1000 lumens, fancier firmware. Also a bit lighter.”

Most of that above is correct.
the D4 to me. is about the ugliest small torch on the market at present.

They a bit like yachts and stink Boats. (I’m a yachtie for 60+ yrs)
If it doesn’t look “yes” to your eyes when you walking towards, or away from.
You’ll never be happy with it.
This IS a nice to have torch, aesthetically. We need more .
I’ve got over 30 tubes. Some with a lump on the end most with bits sticking out all over the place to make it different from the other tubes around.
Talking under $200 torches basically.
We NEED a little Lathe “art” to improve the looks of modern torches.
They’ve got soooo Ho-Hum, there’s basically nothing new to buy that doesn’t look like several others on the market.
