Acebeam K75

Amen…

Soooo……………………any news on this yet?

Wow. This+extension tube is gonna be impressive with some mods.

This looks absurd. That thing will be so head-heavy that it won’t be usable.

My bet is it won’t be.

And that the balance point will be right in front of the [on/off] switch.

I would bet you are exactly right, I had read about people saying the Astrolux MF04/s was the same way. Looked very unbalanced and than once in the hand, felt balanced and didn’t fatigue the hand more than you would expect for a light of its size.

It depends on how thick the aluminum housing is around the reflector. It doesn’t look like there’s much, aside from the cooling fins towards the bottom, but those aren’t a big solid chunk. The weight of the handle with its 4 batteries should offset it for the most part. However, I will admit something like the T21 in 2x18650 configuration is more comfortable and less of a hassle to hold than my TN40.

I will say I wish flashlight manufacturers would start looking at different batteries to give more capacity we have 21700 and 20700 now becoming more main stream, so hopefully we eventually get more battery options.

Still…it’s fugly and impractical!

First of all: not all flashlights need to be practical, the fun factor and the wow factor are quite important as well.
Secondly: ugly or beautiful is in the eye of the beholder
Last but not least: lights this size you do not hold in your hand for a prolonged period.
Instead you use a shoulder strap/sidesling so you use the light from your side/hip.
Then the “balance-issue” is not an issue at all.

I would love to own this light, with its massive 150mm reflector.
The led I would change immediately and replace it with a smaller led with higher luminescence per square mm, in order to
maximize the throw.
After all, this thing is not meant to illuminate objects 100 meters away, but object at much, much higher distances, where ultimate
throw is king.

With an XP-L HI it should do well over 2Mcd and with a led like the Oslon Black Flat it could get well over 3Mcd.
This will produce a pencil beam at “short” distances but let’s not forget that this light is not mean for relative short distances.
At ranges of 1Km and farther away, the spot will be big enough to be of use.

Of course, just my view on it.

Cheers
Nico

Looks like another quality light from Acebeam, although the candela seems low for that huge reflector and I miss the magnetic control ring.

You remember K70?

I just recently sold my K70 to fund the purchase of more lumens, it sure was a nice light.

And overpriced as well.

guys dont judge the book by its cover.

“Still” no news…………

No,I’m not impatient, not at all!

Cheers,
Nico

The only thing that would make me really consider it is if it was powered by 21700 batteries, since the diameter increase would be negligible.

The BLF GT needs to step up its game! Lets encourage them to make a Turbo Head… say 180-200 mm diameter and deep reflector :smiling_imp:

Edit, found this other picture from this Spanish site https://linternas.net/novedades-acebeam-2018/

The Acebeam advert on the side says:

2569m
6300 lumens
Luminus SBT-90 Gen 2.

Acebeam has added the K75 to their website. And with some impressive specs.
