ENDED.

Utorch UT02 is same size as Lumintop ODL20C

These are single cell mini/ medium size thrower class.

Agreed! :-)

Interested.

Not sure if you have submitted your name? Please use the search function located on the top right hand corner of the list. Avoid double or multiple posting.

Questions are welcome, but please give me sometime to verify the facts from BG. I will ensure all specs are 100% firm before preorder starts.

Interested (you already responded & thanks).

Interested in this one!

My FT02 prototype has some weird UI. Uneven mode spacing (huge gap from moon to the next one and the higher modes are too close to each other). And it has no ramping either.

Click to turn on, always turns on moonlight. Click to advance modes, long click to turn off. After double clicking for turbo, it reverses the cycle from high to low, but you can’t reverse the direction without going to turbo first AFAIK.

Other than that, it feels very good in the hand. It’s nice and chunky and balanced better than the Emisar D1S. The switch is nice and tactile. Reflector shows machining marks and isn’t as smooth as the D1S.
Walls are nice and thick. Double springs in the tail.

Even though Banggood asked, I’m not going to publish any measurements from the proto as it will not represent the retail product (they said the output will be higher). A review of a light with different UI and output wouldn’t serve anyone. So all I can say is, don’t buy it until someone has tested the final light. But if the final light will have a good UI, it seems like a nice one.

Bezel came off easily. Double o-rings in the head. There’s space for a 30mm MCPCB. Lens is 52x2mm.

Quick visual comparison indoors and this thing in its prototype form smokes the D1S in throw. Of course that’s partly due to the fact that the FT02 is cool white while the D1S is 4000K. But it sure blinds me more efficiently when shone on a close by white surface.

Current performance is not far away from listed specs. I was told that driver is undergoing further upgrade. Will get BG to monitor closely on FT02 development.

Some improvements like what maukka and I would like to see:

  1. improved UI with ramping option.
  2. smoother reflector.
  3. larger inner diameter for its reflector for tighter hotspot.
  4. 21700 flat top support.
  5. make S/S bezel available for the light or at least an option for separate purchase.

Flat tops work fine, at least a Samsung 30T in Vapcell wraps. What I’d like to see is a bit more space for a protected 21700. My Acebeam 21700 doesn’t have a protruding button anymore

Put me in for a 2nd unit. I will take one more for the team. This light could be awesome with the requested upgrades.

With physical reverse polarity protection in place, there is no way for my stock LS 21700 to make contact with the positive connector. A quick workaround will be adding a solder bold to the cell, but not everyone have the necessary tools for such heck.

Probably depends on how much the surrounding wrapping gives in.

Also, they machined the aluminum spacer the wrong way around in the 18650-21700 adapter. It has an indent instead of a button at the end.

The plastic tube is threaded and the piece can be removed which does help as long as the button in the battery is tall enough. But then the adapter just flops around freely unless there’s a battery pushing it down.

From past MF02 experience, #3 is very hard and costly to achieve. It is a very busy period for 11.11 sales now, slow reply from BG is expected.

It's not in the manual, but i believe you have to install at the other end.

Well that makes a whole lotta more sense.

edit: the spacer is fine with regard to resistance. Adds only a couple mOhm to the IR of the battery.
