Not to mention, Kickstarter would take a big cut into that BLF discount.
I want a BLF Lantern if the price is reasonable. Never bought a BLF light before. How does it work? If there is a list, please put me on it.
Just bought Sofirm AAA twisties but Sofirm/AliExpress would not give me the discount.
If I can get a discounted price on these lanterns, I will buy two. If not, I wonāt.
I truly appreciate the work folks are putting on here to bring out a good lantern, but to jump through hoops to pay full price doesnāt seem right. Just my opinion.

You have already done what you need to do by asking to be put on the listā¦. sbslider will confirm when he sees your post. Welcome to BLF and as Dale saysā¦. hide your wallet.
Hello. I just joined the forum, but I have been stalking here quite a bit before buying my current stable of two S2+, and pretty much everything made by Emisar Anyway, this project sounds really great, and useful for me, so I was wondering if I could be placed on the ā Iām interestedā list!
Thanks all
Interested in one lantern
Just my two cents: seems like mini-USB has the advantage of being able to find a cable anywhere.
miniUSB is dead since 2014. Itās hard to find an cable for it in local stores.
miniUSB has been replaced within 3-4 years completely, so i expect this will happen to microUSB too. 2023 there will be only a few devices left with microUSB.
*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020) - #1895 by angerdanUSB-C is not necessarily the next big thing. And is expensive to implement.
It will be the next thing for sure, all smartphone brands will switch to USB-C in the next years.
Seems tha an USB Type-C plug only charges $0.57 and is already the standard of the future. https://aliexpress.com/item/1x-16P-16-Pin-USB-3-1-Female-socket-Connector-for-repair-mobile-camera-MP3-MP4/32769193616.html Apple will use USB-C in future iPhones and future smartphone chargers in the EU are planned to be USB-C. http://www.digitaleurope.org/DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Download.aspx?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=2630&language=en-US&PortalId=0&TabId=353 Would be an advantage if the chā¦
I guess everyone wantās to have a long lasting lantern which will be compatible to the standards used in 5 and even ten years. This doesnāt include microUSB.

Two cents more: I wish there was a place to store the changing cable in/on the lantern. harder to loose it, one less point of failure.
Sounds like a good idea.
Interested in one lantern. I havenāt read through all these posts, just the first post, but this looks great.

Hey! Welcome to BLF! From your post, it looks like youāre already off to a great start in your collection. You will surely be added to the list at its next update.
Yeahā¦ā¦ I could have saved a lot of money if I had waited till the Emisars came out before joining BLF :person_facepalming:
I would definitely be interested in one
Considering the recent turn the project took (altered driver design with dropped power bank function) I think it would make sense to start a separate interest list for the deluxe version.
There are probably a significant number of members who expected this feature, and due to its removal are no longer interested in the current version, but are willing to wait for the second iteration. I am one of those users, and I am pretty sure I am not alone
What do you think?
Itād probably be a good idea to wait until V1 is shipping before starting a thread for V2. We donāt even know if V2 will happen.
Thatās exactly my problem. I really wouldnāt mind paying extra for power bank functionality but at the same time I donāt really need 2 lanterns (not sure if I need it at all but thatās totally different topic).
Good thing itās not ordering time yet so I should have enough time to thing about it!

And would it not be useful for the team to have an idea about the actual demand for a hypothetical āproā model, before making that decision ?
I think a separate list would definitely help with thatā¦
A lot of varying opinions on this - I would hate to pay extra for a power bank function - I donāt even want on board charging - just another hole for me to fill up with silicon - but I do understand why some want it.
I think V2 should be left as a āpipe dreamā at this point. Letās get the V1 completed and produced and then see how much interest there is a V2. Thatās my opinion. I have a couple of power banks alreadyand seldom use them; hardly need another but if I did not have a power bank then that might be interesting.

I kind of agree. No need for on board charging without power bank functionality for me. I had integrated charging on couple lights and used it just to check if it works really.
Iām interested in one of these.
