[Available again! - BLF special edition light] new Sofirn AAA twisty high CRI 5mm LED

For anybody wanting to make the order, here is what you need to do (the Liitokala order is only used as a reference, only use it on the Sofirn C01)

1. Make your order

2. Check the Other payment methods and click Pay now

3. Rather than paying, click on the Aliexpress logo to go back to your home page

4. Go in your My orders page, and contact the seller

5. Leave this message with your BLF username

And voilà! Small BLF discount on the light.

With a final message, Paypal isn’t available in Aliexpress in Canada, which is a good thing for most cases, but slightly worse for edge cases.

I used the AliExpress App and the PayPal option appeared there. I didn’t use it, though!

BTW, the real value I paid for the 2 lights was higher than the $6,50! Honestly, I didn’t care that much!!
I am just waiting for the coloured versions to get some

Again, thanks to all involved :+1:

Just nabbed my two 5600K, but 3200K were sold out. I’ll need to order them when they come back in stock. 5600K are almost sold out too, only three of those left. Good thing Sofirn have more coming

Oh, that explains it! Shame, I’d really prefer to use PayPal.

It is a bummer for people who missed out for the first 300 lights, but it is a good thing that they went so fast. It will give Sofirn trust that the flashlight that they made in cooperation with BLF is a good product for them. They may even (this is speculation) consider to make another bath of these apart from the 2000 in the planning now (the Yuji store still lists the 60 degrees DIP leds in both colour temperatures, despite what Barry said). Or to make extra colours. Or use brighter/lower CRI led versions.

And I’m extremely curious how the C01 will be liked by the BLF crowd and beyond, and if all copies prove to be good quality.

I’m already pretty sure that a lot of people at first will be disappointed by the output, with appreciation only kicking in later

I think it is just broken. I have tried on my Windows Machine: Chrome with adblocker off, incognito mode. Mac: safari, chrome, Firefox. iPad Safari, Chrome, Native App. Android: Chrome

I am in the United States and have used Paypal before on Convoy store, but now it does not give me the option

^ :frowning:

The red ones look dope.

Having shown some pics to my friends, they positively wanted the lights

Ordered a 3200K version before they sold out. I originally asked for 1x 3200K and 1x 5600K but I decided that I really only wanted the 3200K. Given the demand (and the fact I’ve seen that Aliexpress link posted elsewhere, to people who have never even been to BLF) I’m sure that extra 5600K light will go to a good home.

It appears there’s more in stock already, but the price is 8.88 now.

So for clarity, they’ll still reduce the price to $6.50 for BLF members when (asked after placing an order, yes I know how it works) even for the new stock price of $8.88?

Not for my orders, for three lights, which are in limbo (they weren’t paid, yet).
No actual response from their contact, just the cut’n’paste thankyouforshopping message.

I’d cancel them and reorder except for suspecting they’ve already run out.

I hope that everyone gets their orders and discount sorted out, there is not much that I can do about that.

The same type of thing happened with the Sofirn Q8 group buy, it seems that building consistent websites that run the same on all platforms and browsers is very difficult.

Too much for me,I will try again tomorrow after a good nights sleep.

Hey, the price changed on one of the orders:
Was $7.02, now $7.82

I guess they’re thinking I used PayPal?

The other 2 orders still show $7.02.
At least someone over there is doing something, even doing it wrong is a sign of life.

Well, I might be stalled until the red ones come along.

Is it too late to get in on this?

Thanks

theres nothing to “get in ” on as far as I can see. I don’t get why there was some”list” crated in the first place it meant absolutely nothing. they got a cpl hundred made and put them on Ali . there was no effort made to accommodate this forum that I can see.

You go to Aliexpress and try and get one on your own.

this is the typical “run around like chicken with head cutoff” routine I have seen dozens and dozens of times with things like this.

I ordered two of each tint in black at the $7 price point. I derped and paid without doing the message seller+wait for price change thing. Now here is hoping for quick shipping.

For someone that has just arrived it seems that you are lacking some reading…

This is a remarkable attitude towards what has happened in the development of this flashlight….

This flashlight was initiated here on BLF, a manufacturer was found to make it, throughout the extremely fast (3 months!) design to production process contact was maintained by Sofirn with BLF while listening to and incorporating advice from BLF members. All the way during the process 100% of the risk of putting money into designing a flashlight that may not sell was at the manufacturer, not us and still they trusted every design change that we asked for.

AFAIC, this is as accomodating to the forum as has never been seen before.

(As MascaratumB already pointed out and was emphasized many times in the past three months, the list was to be regarded as an interest list to gain Sofirns trust that what we were designing would not put them at a loss. The format of a group buy based on the list was only decided on two weeks ago. A group buy process not going smooth is nothing new and usually has more to do with imperfect organisation than with the bad intention that you suggest)
