"Plonker" in the UK is roughly equivalent to "dick" in the US. But isn't quite as strong and has elements of extreme stupidity.

It said on NPR (National Public Radio) today that number 1 came for World War I...english speaking men thought that the French barmaid was saying "plonk" when she was saying "vin blanc". Right after that she said "Two francs for all night squaddie".

Number 2 is from the early days of the internet, on USENET, Plonk means to dump a stupid poster.

Ive only waited since December 2011 for a flashlight , one of there DEALS ! [ No deal I tells you ] and its March 11 now , so going for 4 months !

I think the longest I ever waited was 6 months [ KD ] and then they refunded me my money without asking . [ yeah I really wanted that flashlight ]

It took DX about 2 weeks to respond to my request for an update [ they did offer to refund - I told them to stand and deliver ] so ?????

Can I sign up for one of those?

I am still waiting for some magnets from DX, ordered on 15th Feb. Supposedly "shipped" on 17th Feb, I sure hope they are not stuck to body of the plane!

Yeah, not two weeks for the order. Two week for a reply to my 24/48hr for a reply ticket. And the response was gobbledygook!

So my next conversation will be with Mr Paypal: 'Hello, I seem to have given some of my money to a company, that I foolishly thought sold stuff, but it seems they don't! Could i have my money back please?'

OK it seems the only way to get a response from them is to go on the forum. I now have an order number, the problem is it doesn't seem to exist! Still! They give me some nonsense about my email address for my paypal and my DX being different, but they are not. I have been told to cancel my dispute or they will cancel my order! Ha, not a chance, not until my order is in my hands.

So can someone tell me if there is any difference between dealextreme.com and DX.com and why there are two sites? Are they planning on transitioning to dx and closing down dealextreme or what? kind of confusing

no worries mate, aluminum isn't magnetic. . As a side note, I use manafont for certain orders but its just not the same as dealextreme as far as user reviews and activity and such.

Now I'm worried the package might stuck unto some mail trolley! Ha!

This is a really bad time for DX.. in fact it's always a bad time for chinese vendors chinese new year is to blame .. I just blame the chinese .

last year dx took 3 months to send me some brynite lights .. it would have been ok with me but the lights really sucked so it made it worse ... next time I'll take the refund unless i already know the light

I had to file my first PP dispute ever with them. They never even contacted me once. Filed a claim and again no contact whatsoever. I was refunded the money by PP. Like I said, it was the first time I ever filed a dispute or claim and I expected that they would make an effort to contact me. Didn’t they come out with a bunch of pictures last year of their backed up distribution after CNY? I know this year they had their video explaining all of their troubles and how sad they are.

I have been following the DX saga for years and always avoided because of the slow delivery horror stories I've heard here and over at mtbrforums. A week ago I placed a test order for under $10 just to see how it goes. So far, not impressive. Status is: Payment Received - Success. Next step is 'All Shipped'. I'm going to give them another week or so.

Got my refund via PP.

DX has become an epic joke. Word to the wise; DON'T BOTHER.

My last order (for good) says it all:

Of 6 items ordered in December; two they couldn't even ship out months later after I paid. 1 item they claimed was shipped in the envelope, but wasn't in the envelope. 1 item in the envelope was broken. The other item they claimed was shipped separately, and I still haven't received it four months later. One item arrived ok. That's about a 17% success rate.

When I wrote to complain, and demand a refund they said, please wait longer, please buy MORE and we'll reship the old stuff with the new stuff. I had to write again to demand a refund. I still have not gotten a refund for one item because they want me to wait for it. I paid MONTHS ago.
