On a more positive note, It took Newport News Shipbuilding less time to build (and commission) the first ship in a class of entirely new aircraft carriers (Essex) than it has taken to put together this flashlight. Way to go Newport News Shipbuilding! Wink

In 1941.

The current construction schedule isn’t quite as tight.

I have the impression his wallet thinner detector broke loose while seeing that keyboard.

These types of keyboards do sell for a pretty penny.

It’s called a WhiteFox. It’s one of very few models I’ve found with the HHK+arrows layout (HHK = Happy Hacking Keyboard). I have the keys on mine rearranged a bit compared to the picture, but it’s still reasonably close.

If I get another any time soon, it’ll be similar but with a split space bar, RGB lighting per key, hot-swappable switches, and cleaner firmware. I made a physics simulation of a swimming pool which responds to keypresses and splashes colors around as if each key stroke is someone dropping a bowling ball into the pool. It’s totally unnecessary, but it also makes typing really satisfying. Did I mention I like shiny things?

WhiteFox and Tada68 (what I’m using with Aliaz Silent 70g) and definitely the most useful in that size category. I don’t need a numpad or whatever that other cluster w/home, pg up/down is called but my arrow keys aren’t going anywhere.

Having Esc on the same row as my numbers is also literally a lifechanger. I don’t code but I see zero reason for tilde to take that spot.

I use tilde a lot, but I like it on the upper right corner instead of upper left. I use Escape a lot too. And with Backspace moved down one row, there’s a nice empty space to fill.

I don’t have a problem with definitions.

Maybe it’s a reference from a game or movie that I don’t get? I don’t know, but it doesn’t seem related in any way to this thread.

Now all you need is a really nice keycap set to go along with your really nice keyboard.

How can you use a keyboard without Home/End buttons? Shocked

Post 1, second prototype pictures.

I believe the 3rd prototype looks exactly the same on the exterior, but no, we have not seen any pictures of it.

It’s a little disconcerting to realize that the smartest member of our expedition’s the dog.

It’s like D&D and those choose your own adventure games without graphics from the 80s I think.
