FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

18650 ships with many of the “enthusiast” brands’ onboard-charging products, so I think it goes there. Acebeam bundles 21700s with several of their lights, so again, they probably go in the same category.

Where does writing a phone app for testing flashlights go?

It seems that Irredeemable or Fallen both feature very significant investments in the flashlight hobbies, either with time or with money.
But buying a light with battery X doesn’t fit the pattern, unless that light is a one-off custom.

One of My clematis’s has a new flower , that’s unusual for this time of year.

I think it’s safe to say you walk among the fallen.

I think ascended is just not going out where it’s dark

It’s a class of its own: ‘Monolith’

You can place it before ‘Muggle’, or under ‘Ascended’, or even in one of 4=7 parallel universes.

I had a nice 10 item list of how deep my iceburg goes, found it pathetic and deleted it. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you really wanted to get anal, then you could assign each milestone a point value. For example:

Milestone Points
Walmart, Harbor Freight, dollar stores 1
Camping/hiking stores 2
6500K 3
Olight, Zebralight, Nitecore, Thrunite, Armytek, Klarus, SureFire 3
1000+ lm 4
Lumintop, Sofirn, Acebeam, Manker, Imalent, Rofis, Astrolux 4
Neutral white 5
Okluma, Sinner, McGizmo, Hanko, Oveready, Sigma 5
DEFT-X 6
CRI 7
Building from parts 8
Hosted a group buy 9
Having your own flashlight brand 10

Then add up the points, and assign a status based on the sum. Example:

1 - 10 = Muggle

11 - 20 = Fan

21 - 30 = Enthusiast

31 - 50 = Weird

51 -70 = Creepy

71 -100 = Irredeemable

101+ = Fallen

Also, I though that it may be appropriate to have a status entitled, "Demi-God." TK comes to mind for this status.

I would be interested in two of these.

I have blossomed Lilac. Unusual for the season (autumn) too.

<— Weird, partly creepy!

I think it is worse than writing a new firmware.

And thank you for your app!

So does each instance of the quoted thing get the points? i.e. is this picture worth 237 points? (They’re all neutral white and at least 80 CRI) Or perhaps it’s 341 points because all but three have emitter swaps and are therefore arguably “built from parts”.

It be the same as in TK's original version. That is to say, a milestone can only be reached once - unless a demigod (like TK) decides to make the second occurrence etc another milestone.

Any angst or confusion about that? Whatever TK says.

It’s good that this flashlight is taking its time, so I have an excuse to save my wallet and stop myself from buying more lights for the moment, as the FW3A will be ‘better’.

That’s interesting , what colour is it?

I hope pepinfaxera doesn’t get lost in the updates due to the cross conversations :stuck_out_tongue:

BTW, I guess the “iceberg” idea about flashlights could be make a whole new thread to help us to diagnose how bad is our flashlight health/addiction, adding new “symptoms” and “facts” :smiling_imp:

a topic about that FW3A light would be nice... ;)

Well, daytime color is violet only, but at night there are beautiful violet hues depending on the color temperature of the flashlight I use.

I’ll try to take a picture at the end of the week when I’m at the cottage.
Expect negative temperatures then.

BTW my clematis had flowers until recently.

What FW3A? What light is that? If I remember correctly I’m sure I have seen it before and even discussed but not anymore…

In the meantime, while people are in “waiting mode”. let’s
