FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

So does each instance of the quoted thing get the points? i.e. is this picture worth 237 points? (They’re all neutral white and at least 80 CRI) Or perhaps it’s 341 points because all but three have emitter swaps and are therefore arguably “built from parts”.

It be the same as in TK's original version. That is to say, a milestone can only be reached once - unless a demigod (like TK) decides to make the second occurrence etc another milestone.

Any angst or confusion about that? Whatever TK says.

It’s good that this flashlight is taking its time, so I have an excuse to save my wallet and stop myself from buying more lights for the moment, as the FW3A will be ‘better’.

That’s interesting , what colour is it?

I hope pepinfaxera doesn’t get lost in the updates due to the cross conversations :stuck_out_tongue:

BTW, I guess the “iceberg” idea about flashlights could be make a whole new thread to help us to diagnose how bad is our flashlight health/addiction, adding new “symptoms” and “facts” :smiling_imp:

a topic about that FW3A light would be nice... ;)

Well, daytime color is violet only, but at night there are beautiful violet hues depending on the color temperature of the flashlight I use.

I’ll try to take a picture at the end of the week when I’m at the cottage.
Expect negative temperatures then.

BTW my clematis had flowers until recently.

What FW3A? What light is that? If I remember correctly I’m sure I have seen it before and even discussed but not anymore…

In the meantime, while people are in “waiting mode”. let’s

Try using a UV torch on Clematis. My standard Montanas look completely different, as do many other flowers. Bees etc. see things quite differently. My Buddleia even still has some blossom despite the winter frosts setting in. If you can find a UV transparent lens, and team it up with a DSLR without an internal filter, it gets very interesting. Orchids particularly.

As well as IR.

It is all “false” colour of course, but everything we see through our eyes is just an illusion, particularly colour. Most other animals don’t much bother with colour, preferring detail and movement sensibility. At which they are often far far better than us.

Then we could talk about hearing, and smell…

and I caught crap for saying the project was in stasis

I have a question ActiveAl…… Do points count for each “milestone”??

For instance, first flashlight bought at WalMart counts 1 point? Then the same for Harbor Freight & Dollar Store… first light from each one counts as 1 point?Total 3 points possible??

Then 6500K…. 1st 6500K light counts for 3 points?? Total of 3 points possible in the 6500K Category??

Or does each 6500K light owned count for 3 points?? (surely not… :person_facepalming: . )
…….
Edit: Depending on how points are counted I am either on the ‘Creepy/Irredeemable’ line or so far ‘Fallen’ I’ll never see daylight again. :person_facepalming: …

It’s important to keep the dream alive!

Pro tip - don’t eat wasabi peas and then rub your eye. Like I just did.

Naah, the “stasis” comment was 100% right on target. What came after was a bit unclear……

Back on topic :expressionless:

Keyboards………I never realized they were so programable Ive always been amazed that the quote key always knew which way to lean “.”. :weary:

Excellent “Pro Tip” Tumbleweed48!! :+1:
Good luck on regaining your vision too. .

I didn’t know Wasabi would do that. How bad was it?

Last week, I chopped up a Chocolate Ghost Pepper and put the whole thing in my bowl of Chili. It added a nice heat. :smiling_imp:

I washed off my hands after chopping up the pepper, scrubbing and using dish detergent to try to dissolve it off my skin. Later, I was eating some thing with my hands, and burned my mouth again from the heat that was still there. :open_mouth:

Are you serious?? :open_mouth: . :open_mouth:I am amazed…… :person_facepalming: …

You could do it too. Surprisingly, pepper heat is something you could easily build up a tolerance for. Start with something that only has a little heat, like Cholula. Add some to your food, and assuming you like the flavor of it, you’ll find yourself adding more of it each time after a while. Then, move up to something hotter until you get used to that, then hotter again, and so on. I couldn’t have eaten a whole Ghost Pepper, even with a whole plate of food, just a year ago. There’s also some variation in heat depending on the growing environment. I don’t think these peppers I have are nearly as hot as Ghost Peppers can get. But, they’re close enough for me. :open_mouth:

Trivia fact: A lot of people don’t know that the “hotness” of peppers isn’t really hotness, or even a chemical “burn”. It is simply a hack of nature. It’s basically just telling your hot/burn/pain nerves to activate as if there really was some heat applied. However, it is possible to be allergic, and have some very bad reactions. But that is a different matter.

No trouble at all .

Thank you

It’s amazing how many people think Cholula is hot. And it’s fun to watch their faces when I put some into a shot glass and calmly drink it. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s the pepper equivalent of impressing muggles with a 150 lm flashlight. Like a D4 at its default level. “Ooh, that’s bright!” “If you like that, you should see it on a high mode…”
