*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Sorry, must have forgotten that i am already on the list… i want only one lantern total.

Are we still going to thread a steel bolt into an aluminium nut?

why not? if you own a digial camera,DSLR or a fillin light etc(most have alum bodies) and you have a tripod or monopod then you would do it without even think about it!!!

I know, that's why I'm not holding out for a possible V2 as V1 is going to be light years ahead of anything else

Tripod screws are always coated with nickel or zinc so you don’t have to worry about corrosion, and female threads are stronger then male threads so there won’t be a stripping problem. Every aluminum engine block and head has steel fasteners threaded into it.

Lets just hope that the screw is long enough so when the threads fail you can glue a steel nut, under the shelf…

Interested, please add me too.

I’d like to be added to the list if still possible. Definitely something cool here!

I’m interested in one (1) depending on the price.

Interested.

I’m sorry to hear this. I hope things start turning around for you. With a little more hope some others here can pick up this project and have them ready to go next spring for your next outing.

Den, don’t feel sorry!!
You’ve started something great!
I’m pretty sure this project will go on and will turn out great!

This isn’t blf if we’ll let this one go.

You have done a tremendous amount of work on this and you can be proud. A lantern was a big gap in the market and this looks incredible.

I wish you all the best with your health.

It falls to us now to pick up the torch (pun somewhat intended) to see this completed.

What needs to happen now to complete this? We seem to be nearly at a final (fingers crossed) prototype stage as far as I can see but I don’t have any experience with this.

DBSAR, I would also like to thank you for they job you did.
Your retirement from the project leaves a hole that the community may or may not be able to fill.
I hope the project will go well and actually it is so advanced already that I think it will.

I really wish that your health improves and that you’ll return to us.
Farewell DBSAR.

SOD THE LATERN!!! You look after yourself and take care…. NO latern is worth the cost of your health…. YOU TAKE DAMN CARE OF YOURSELF……

Hi Den,
I’m sorry to hear that you are not doing well, and hope for some recovery. I think the Lantern project has advanced enough that it will become a reality so you did a great job on that, thanks. I’m not the man to pick this project up as initiator (not a lantern fanatic, and enough to do already) but I’m alright helping in the background if needed.
Cheers! Jos
