I can’t really find the CRI ratings on either of those links. Am I missing it somewhere?
I was checking my order confirmation email and realized that they charged 8% tax. This was my first order on ali with tax, I thought the tax was only for US online sales.

I noticed the same for my order. As long as it’s truly getting to the State, I’m (disappointed but) good.
Noctiluco: Phlogiston: Noctiluco: defloyd77:Does anyone know of a good, not discontinued 5mm LED that we could suggest Sofirn to use after all of the Yujis are gone?
Nichia 2800K and 5000K probably are available:
Those might actually be the LEDs Fenix uses in the E01. I don’t think they’re available in high CRI, though.
Those are bote high CRI, no the bluish tint of Fenix E01. There are a lot of kinds of Nichia leds, not only those that mount Fenix E01
Available for retail customer in Lumitronix, a german store. Also in other stores…

I have mounted some of this in AAA lights and te beam of light is smooth and regular, and the color rendering is excellent, as says Ledrise in its specifications.

The Nichia’s you linked are very wide 140 degrees leds, but they make narrow 35 degrees leds too that sound more suitable to me.
The CRI is not listed by Nichia, it will not likely be over 90CRI, but the colour coordinates are listed.

I didn’t pay any tax, I live in Wisconsin for the record.
My guess is maybe Ali has a warehouse in your state?Online tax paying is always kind of weird. You can buy something from a chain of stores based from another state and the item is stocked and ships from another state, but if that chain has 1 store in your state, you have to pay your state tax.
I believe the 3200K Yuji LED used in the first run is the 30 degree 95 BC ones (if I'm wrong someone will correct me) and they are discontinued. The 45 degree 3200K are out also, but the 60 degree 3200K version is still available so logic dictates that if Sofirn makes a second run they'll probably use the 60 degree LED for the warm 3200K version. So no need to panic about not getting a Yuji LED in your C01 just yet. Just my opinion.

You may be right… Everyone has a warehouse in NJ!

I think they are using the 60 degree Yuji already.
I believe the 3200K Yuji LED used in the first run is the 30 degree
where are you getting that information?
djozz told You last month that Sofirn is using 60 degree Yuji’s
Before I got these samples I was concerned by the wide 60 degrees leds but now I like that nice even floody beam, it is really pleasant and nothing like the ugly Fenix E01 beam.
Thanks
Sofirn bought one box of each Color Temperature
There are 1000 Yujis in a box, so they cannot have run out after the first 300 sold
and, fwiw, the McGizmo Sapphire also offers a 60 degree Yuji… we are in good company
Does anyone else’s tracking number work? Mine was marked shipped a little while ago and shows as “number not found” on 17track. Isn’t that usually because it’s not a real tracking ID?

It takes a little more time for the tracking number to be active. 5 to 10 days according to Ali.

IMHO 17track is one of the best tracking sites around, but it is not allmighty. Especially when it concerns AliExpress parcels. But Ali has it’s own tracking system. Go to “My AliExpress” => “My Orders” and in the right row of your particular order you’ll find the button “Track Order”. Pushing it will reveal you something like “Shipment accepted by airline”. With Ali parcels it is even quite accurate (and detailled) to follow parcels in the destination country, a notorious weak-point in most tracking systems.

Thanks. I did try that and it doesn’t show any tracking info, just that it was shipped.
How about putting a link to sofirn in the first page that doesn’t take you to the netherlands version of ali express.
English maybe ?

Presently it shows as “sold out” so it doesn’t appear on the list of Sofirn Official Store, but here is the link in English in case the OP is altered:
Also, djozz and slowtechstef, please add the degree of the leds used to avoid further incorrections or opinions about the type of leds being used:

Both 3200K and 5600K versions have 60 degrees leds and that is clearly mentioned close to the top of the OP, including a beamshot comparing them to a 45 degrees Yuji led (but that one is wrongly called a 30 degrees led, sorry about that). Is that good enough?

Indeed, it is, and I missed it as it was in the first paragraph of the quote [Update 2018-10-29 (Update from djozz)]!
Guess that should be enough Thanks mate !! :+1:
It is only Stef who can edit the OP, and it is a bit less tidy than could be.

It’s good, people just need to take a look at it from time to time to avoid confusions and the need of further explanations :+1:
