Lumintop GT micro

Looks good, I’m in. I am even more interested in the driver though.

A GT Micro doesn’t interest me much. Anything with a head that big might as well run on an 18650.

What does is an AA/14500 driver running Narsil. If they put that in the EDC05 with a nice emitter (not Cree), they’d really have something. I’d also likely buy several drivers if they sold them separately for a reasonable price.

I would also love to see this driver for sale, I think they would make a killing selling it.

After reading the comments….

I still find the light very cute.
But it has no chance to compete against D1 when it comes to capabilities-to-size. Assuming equal reflector diameter (no idea if this assumption is right), 18350 Emisar will perform better while offering slightly better capacity and much smaller size. 18650 will provide another small performance improvement and triple capacity.

The boost driver makes it possible to use nimh, but makes the light larger. That’s a part of the reason for performance disparity against D1.
It also makes it possible to use AA, possibly making it the best 1*AA thrower.
Personally I couldn’t be less interested in what the best 1*AA thrower is, but I’m sure that there are others who could.

So…yeah, I find Micro very cool and I will gladly follow its development, but this light is not for me.

Nano…wouldn’t have a competitor like Emisar.

Completely agree with Argo! :+1:
Cute light!

nice! definitely interested

I’ve always pursued the interest in a “line” of a model. With the GT starting at the top, the natural progression is down… so yeah, stay with the form factor and I’m in for the entire line. Matter’s not one little bit what the competition is, that’s not at all what this is about, but the form factor and the functionality of the light on it’s own merits. I don’t drink Coke because it tastes like Pepsi, I drink Coke because I like Coke. I don’t buy a flashlight because I need the form or the function it offers, I buy it because I want it, because I’m a non-delusional flashaholic and I have a rather large collection that is constantly growing and evolving. Non delusional is the key. I’m happily addicted, enjoying it. As such, I don’t need to talk anyone into buying one, nor do I need to talk anyone out of it. It’s awesome, I love it, I’ll buy… (and I might put a White Flat in one, just because)

I might very well buy one of those, and then, if I’m happy with it, as many drivers as I could find (perhaps even buy more lights just to gut the drivers. Sad, I know.)

Djozz: I don’t think even halving the output hurts throw that much. Going from 1000 to 500 lumens on a light with 1km of throw only lowers output to 707 meters. It’s certainly a lot lower, but I’d say the extra runtime and lower heat more than make up for it, not to mention extra battery compatibility and, being a boost driver, stable output for the entire runtime, instead of a steadily falling brightness.

Hope this light will have a neutral white option.

INTERESTED

In for 2 maybe 3.
looks cool!

Gotta have one to put with it’s bigger brothers. I’m in for the novelty if nothing else.

Interested

I better get on the list now! In for 1

Haha. This thread made me order an emisar D1 with 18350 tube.

I’m in, I really like my GT mini it is one of my more favorite lights.

Except for the Aspire cells, 18350 and 14500 have the same capacity. Typically 600-700mAh. I’ve been surprised on multiple occasions at just how much power these smaller cells can provide!

I bored my D1 to accept a 20700 cell, no half cell for that one, so I’m “stuck with it” lol

Maybe I need to make a Delrin battery case for a 21700 with a lead out to a tail cap plug, with a Velcro strap to tie the case on my wrist and use as a lanyard… slip a dummy cell into the small 14500 light and plug in the “lanyard” for extreme run times off a small light.

I’ll be in for 5. 3-NW and 2-CW. Oops make that 3. Must have misread the price. Thought it said $20.

I’m in. hopefully this will be the last GT look a like
