Lumintop GT micro

guys - thats the discussion thread ;)

Martin do you have a sample? If so, what is the diameter of the mcpcb and the dimensions of the reflector? Thanks!

Definitely interested I was never really interested in 14500 but just got a new belt pouch. Now I have to give it a shot.

Martin, sometimes you release something that is just so darn appealing all common sense flies out the window! Tie a PayPal banner to it and let-er-rip!

So true  This one made me laugh

Interested. Specs?

Cool, but a 2AA version would be nice.

folks - the driver is not final as we heared

they need to decide which way to go (full compatibility AA to 14500 with limited functions), skip the AA/NiMh part (top output) or maybe do the wizardry and make it work at last.

I keep you updated ;)

If they do the wizardry and make the micro-GT work well with both NiMh and 14500, while preserving Narsil, the Micro-GT will have a unique selling point and I will stop telling that Lumintop makes ancient drivers

I’m not going to be interested unless it works off nimh too, because then it’s a good fairly-throwy light for those who i don’t think will take adequate care of li-ion, and it’d even run off alkaline, badly. NiMH could take enough power draw to be useful. Plus, better efficiency and stuff than the usual linear and fet drivers, though they have their place.

imo they should skip AA batteries, i mean the output on those will be like 300 lumens or so? not so useful thrower then maybe…

I hope they can make it compatible with both AA NiMh & 14500 batteries. That would be the best of both worlds.
Even if the output was lower with the NiMh AA’s it would be a much more versatile light.
My .03, ymmv. :+1:

I have helped test prototypes of this nature in the past, making it do good output with a Li-ion AND use the AA format is prone to be problematic… even once working and you use the light primarily in AA then you use a Li-ion… well, I’ve seen the AA side of the driver fry too easily. How would y’all like diving into this and then have that function quit working on your light? Much better in my opinion to dedicate to one or the other. It would be more reliable and make for a happier fan base. And of course, I would like to see it make the power. We are the Flashlight Forum, not K-Mart.

Will it outthrow the Astrolux MF04 PLUS micro. :smiling_imp:

very interested!

Personally I won’t buy one if it doesn’t support NiMH AAs

Make em dedicated Li-ion only and I will buy Thetasigma’s.

Just funnin, of course, I doubt very seriously Lumintop will deviate from whatever plan they are forming based on a few individual’s like’s/dislikes.
