We talked Simon into clear anodizing the L2 straight off the machines, you can easily see and feel the machine marks but it’s anodized and you can do the tail lock-out. Looks like it’s bare or raw, but it’s anodized. Sitting next to my own scratch made lights it looks just like the bare aluminum.
Hmmm… Does Simon have these as a host in his AE shop?
The first picture, looked at enlarged, you can see the broaching lines where the longitudinal slot was cut in the head. This clearly shows it’s not bead blasted which would remove all those lines. The circumferential lines from the cutting tool on the lathe are also there, can be seen and felt with a fingernail.

Um, that’s a C8, it’s bead blasted as far as I know. I’m talking about the special run of non blasted L2’s Simon did.
The machining signature looks much more pronounced at full macro of course, but these show there’s no demarkation from bead blasting. It IS anodized, just difficult to see it even at this level.
The small TIR cups should be nice for giving it a floody beam. That’s one of the things I like about the ROT66; it’s not super-throwy like most lights its size.
The blue and pink aux-leds look way too disco to me, the E07 is an elegant light, IMO it would suit faint single-colour aux-leds best, my favorite would be 650nm deep red

I love the looks of the grey one. It looks like it means business for sure. They all look great and Fireflies really nailed the job of making it stand out in the looks department.
I really want to see some pics or clips of it in action. Alongside a D4S would be really helpful.
Yeah yeah, I was about to order when I realized I have yet to receive ANY information on the PL47 I ordered over a week ago. Nada zip zilch. So, eggs and one basket being considered… waiting.
Edit: Actually, PayPal transaction was completed on Nov 10, 2018… nearing 3 weeks ago. Never got any kind of order confirmation or anything.
Is there any way to update the firmware if we have the tools? Pins on the driver or a way to remove the driver to flash it? (I guess the aux board would have to be de-soldered too)
Also interested in a coupon and expected ship time

Simon is always great about working with us on customization, he will probably adjust price accordingly to sell you a host, just ask.
This is how one of mine looks close-up:

Click to view full resolution in a new window. Sorry for the file size.
The matte tan looks great with the SS bezel!
Are those purple or pink main aux LEDs? Also are there only 6 aux LED up front? I felt like there would be more. Or it’s just the angle.
Nokoff..still Made in China 山寨主義
Looks like 6 purple and 6 blue aux leds on front. I quite look the tan matte.
That TIR cups are small.
Wow Agro, 3,000 posts.
Congratulations
You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.
I didn’t notice.
Thanks.
That grey one looks particularly nice.

They are like 9 mm in diameter. That would make them smaller than Carclo by (very roughly!) 20%.
Yeah, they could have used a smaller diameter head with the same size optics..

It’s a good time to be interested in flashlights!
I personally realllllly like the color choices, on the rare occasions I build a lighted switch I use the blue and hot pink combination.
These look awesome and have an epicness about them straight away.
Nicely done!
Edit: Given a choice of these 3 colors for the body, the grey one does it for me.
E07 comes the final products, 3 colors option

Huh strange.
I receive my shipping notification a while back.
I think Fireflies got a bit overwhelmed with the popularity of the light, and is building them in batches.

Interested in ordering the gray one
what would be better SST 20 5000k or XPL HI 5000k? Why would you choose one over the other one?
Would love to see a picture comparing it to the Emisar D4S
The light looks great. Nice color options.
FF also added 219B to the list of emitter options which wasn’t there before.
Very tempting…
