I am looking to “compose” my first DIY flashlight.
What I would like to build is an 18650 powered thrower with, off course, as much power as possible.
At the same time I do not want to spend a lot of money on my first build.
My parts-list so far:
Convoy C8 black flashlight host
7135*8 5-mode 2800mA 17mm Driver
10W XML2 L2 20MM PCB Neutral White 4500K
I would like to hear your thoughts on these parts, please be kind since I am still a n00b at this…
In the States, a good place to buy is from a forum member mtnelectronics.com. Richard has been a member here for a while and started the store in part to help us get parts faster for building and modding flashlights.
The Convoy C8 with an FET (+1) driver running an XP-L HI is about the best you can do for the monies involved. Ridiculous really how cheap it comes out for what it does… typically under $30, depending on if you have to buy a cell and a charger of course. Richard has those as well and good prices across the board.
