[Available again! - BLF special edition light] new Sofirn AAA twisty high CRI 5mm LED

Many times there is no ‘rhyme or reason’ when dealing with shipping from China defloyd77. That is just how it is sometimes. Yours may have been sent by a different carrier, a slower boat, etc., etc. Give it time… you’ll get it.

Teacher is wise. I ordered on the 10th in the first 300. Paid full price for one of each. They probably oversold that batch and are having to wait for manufacturing. It may take till February to get them and with Chinese New year it might be April. You never know.

I don’t think that’s the case with mine since it has already shipped out.

Looking forward to trying out my new C01’s when they get here, I’m especially excited for it being a good AAA light with high CRI. I’ve come to appreciate the portability of AAA lights and pretty much always have one on me, usually the BLF-348. It’d be nice to complement that with one of these 3200K C01’s

That is another thing you must realize defloyd77, “shipped out” does not always mean ‘SHIPPED OUT’. That is just another thing some Chinese vendors like AE do sometimes. :person_facepalming: .
The packages may actually be sitting around somewhere waiting to start their jourjey to you. I’m not condoning that practice, that is just how it is.

For example… mine supposedly “shipped out” over 2 weeks ago, the day after I placed the order. But even though they have a Tracking Number they have not even entered the Tracking System yet…… they just have a number. They are sitting around waiting to actually start their journey.

I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but it is how it is. Try to be patient…. they will get to you. Probably later than sooner though.

I once ordered flashlight on eBay from china. They said shipped out. Decided to order another. They both arrived in same package.

Here ya’ go, a picture of some packages loaded on a ‘tiller steer’ launch & sitting on the dock on the bay…. waiting to be loaded on the ‘Slo Boat’ from China to begin their journey toward delivery. .

Any questions why Standard Free Shipping sometimes a long time??

^

I was expecting a canoe.

If you order first your package is at the bottom of the pile. Eventually you will get it.

^ … Good one oto!! … ^ … :+1:

Good one! :+1: … The “canoe” is ‘Plan B’, for when the ‘Tiller Steer Launch’ breaks down.

I’d be afraid to guess what ’Plan C’ is:open_mouth: . :person_facepalming: .

Well “C” obviously stands for “cereal box baking soda submarine”.

:open_mouth: . . I think you nailed it my friend!! … :+1: .

To all those out there waiting on your orders to arrive from China: I feel your discomfort.

One of my packages from China took over 3 months to show up at my home.
Personally I do not mind slow, however this was overdoing it …
This was an exception though, as most of my orders arrived within 3 to 6 weeks.
And up till now not a single package got lost :+1:

I am still amazed by how this “free” shipping from China actually can function at all; especially when you look at those pictures of the complete chaos of the logistics. :person_facepalming:

The trade-off of no-cost shipping, however seems to be no-speed delivery.
Especially during peak periods, such as Thanksgiving, Sinterklaas (Netherlands only), Christmas, or Chinese New Year.

. Exactly, slowtechstef. I agree. . :+1: . I too have never had one not show up. It is amazing ’to me’ also that they ever get here.

This pic should be on the first page of every group buy on BLF. Holy Moly! Thanks OTO

Up to 3 months?! I think the seller shipped it late in that case. I’ve never had a package take more than 3 weeks to arrive from China, but then again, this is the first time I’m expecting an overseas package during the Christmas/New Year holidays.

Woohoo! Received mine today! :sunglasses:

Its so much like my old fav original Thrunite Ti, (year 2011) but to be honest the Ti has much better build. I was a bit disappointed that this is not as good as the Ti, but probably I was having very high expectations. This is my first high CRI light and I was really looking forward to it. However even there I am a bit underwhelmed, again probably I was expecting too much. Or thrunite kinda raised my expectations for a $5 light.

Check the attached comparison pics with the Ti and the beam as comparison as well. The Ti has much more throw compared to the C01. BTW, I love the moonlight mode on the Ti, its my goto bedside light.

The tailcap design on the C01 is awesome! I will have to get a magnet for it once I figure out the size needed…

I just did a tracking update, and my Sofirn CO1 order is now in the USPS system… my lights are at a postoffice 30 miles away from me. My order was placed on Nov10, it got to the cargo area in China on Nov 26 and reached California 10 days later

I am very grateful that the Sofirn C01 has built in compatibility with the Fenix E01. I also appreciate that they use the same potting material. Thanks for all you have done to make this project happen.

I think there is a slight misunderstanding about twist resistance, and threads

the stiffness of a twisty, and the amount of play in the threads is controlled by the O Ring
if you remove the O ring from a Fenix E01 (or any other twisty), you will see what I mean…
without the O ring there is slop in the threads, and very little twisting resistance. This is normal.

jon_slider, thanks for pointing this out! Always great to learn new things

Two arrived today. Nice.

Where can I get the itty bitty tritium vials that fit (to be epoxied into) the slot in the tailcap?
