[Available again! - BLF special edition light] new Sofirn AAA twisty high CRI 5mm LED

Here yaā€™ go, a picture of some packages loaded on a ā€˜tiller steerā€™ launch & sitting on the dock on the bayā€¦. waiting to be loaded on the ā€˜Slo Boatā€™ from China to begin their journey toward delivery. .

Any questions why Standard Free Shipping sometimes a long time??

^

I was expecting a canoe.

If you order first your package is at the bottom of the pile. Eventually you will get it.

^ ā€¦ Good one oto!! ā€¦ ^ ā€¦ :+1:

Good one! :+1: ā€¦ The ā€œcanoeā€ is ā€˜Plan Bā€™, for when the ā€˜Tiller Steer Launchā€™ breaks down.

Iā€™d be afraid to guess what ā€™Plan Cā€™ isā€¦ :open_mouth: . :person_facepalming: .

Well ā€œCā€ obviously stands for ā€œcereal box baking soda submarineā€.

:open_mouth: . . I think you nailed it my friend!! ā€¦ :+1: .

To all those out there waiting on your orders to arrive from China: I feel your discomfort.

One of my packages from China took over 3 months to show up at my home.
Personally I do not mind slow, however this was overdoing it ā€¦
This was an exception though, as most of my orders arrived within 3 to 6 weeks.
And up till now not a single package got lost :+1:

I am still amazed by how this ā€œfreeā€ shipping from China actually can function at all; especially when you look at those pictures of the complete chaos of the logistics. :person_facepalming:

The trade-off of no-cost shipping, however seems to be no-speed delivery.
Especially during peak periods, such as Thanksgiving, Sinterklaas (Netherlands only), Christmas, or Chinese New Year.

. Exactly, slowtechstef. I agree. . :+1: . I too have never had one not show up. It is amazing ā€™to meā€™ also that they ever get here.

This pic should be on the first page of every group buy on BLF. Holy Moly! Thanks OTO

Up to 3 months?! I think the seller shipped it late in that case. Iā€™ve never had a package take more than 3 weeks to arrive from China, but then again, this is the first time Iā€™m expecting an overseas package during the Christmas/New Year holidays.

Woohoo! Received mine today! :sunglasses:

Its so much like my old fav original Thrunite Ti, (year 2011) but to be honest the Ti has much better build. I was a bit disappointed that this is not as good as the Ti, but probably I was having very high expectations. This is my first high CRI light and I was really looking forward to it. However even there I am a bit underwhelmed, again probably I was expecting too much. Or thrunite kinda raised my expectations for a $5 light.

Check the attached comparison pics with the Ti and the beam as comparison as well. The Ti has much more throw compared to the C01. BTW, I love the moonlight mode on the Ti, its my goto bedside light.

The tailcap design on the C01 is awesome! I will have to get a magnet for it once I figure out the size neededā€¦

I just did a tracking update, and my Sofirn CO1 order is now in the USPS systemā€¦ my lights are at a postoffice 30 miles away from me. My order was placed on Nov10, it got to the cargo area in China on Nov 26 and reached California 10 days later

I am very grateful that the Sofirn C01 has built in compatibility with the Fenix E01. I also appreciate that they use the same potting material. Thanks for all you have done to make this project happen.

I think there is a slight misunderstanding about twist resistance, and threads

the stiffness of a twisty, and the amount of play in the threads is controlled by the O Ring
if you remove the O ring from a Fenix E01 (or any other twisty), you will see what I meanā€¦
without the O ring there is slop in the threads, and very little twisting resistance. This is normal.

jon_slider, thanks for pointing this out! Always great to learn new things

Two arrived today. Nice.

Where can I get the itty bitty tritium vials that fit (to be epoxied into) the slot in the tailcap?

Here or you can get them from Fasttech link - there are may others but I have used these two

If I remember right, the trit slot is 1mmx5mm. Is that correct?

1.5x6 mm

Thank you. That explains why I was seeing so many 1.5x6mm trits for sale, but no 1x5s.

My order placed Nov 10. Not received yet, but did get an email today that my purchase protection has been extended til Dec 27. Havenā€™t heard anybody else report that yet. Guess they expect a delay on my package. Heard here that those who ordered first end up on the bottom of the warehouse HEAP !! Lolā€¦and that means they ship lastā€¦.LOLā€¦.Oh well. Wait or Wait I canā€™t decideā€¦

same order date, same purchase protection email

then I used the tracking number and selected USPS and it shows my lights are one post office away from me.

will be here before Xmas
